G + G (glass on glass) I wonder what this means?
I had such a matrix on ICOO D70W. Tried to find on the network what this means. As I understand it, this only means that the matrix is enclosed in a "sandwich" of two glass plates. Not plastic. Theoretically, this means a slightly better image quality, due to the fact that there will be less distortion - the glass transmits light better. On the other hand, the matrix will be more fragile. In ICOO, the usual TN matrix is not bad, but there are not enough stars from the sky. I would say that the 8 "Teclast matrix is better: better viewing angles, better contrast, brightness slightly higher.
As for the "IPS" screen, the online-store online stores, as always, were "slightly exaggerated" ... As for the battery with an allegedly 5000mAh. Apparently some technical difficulties.
There are no technical problems with the release of 8 "IPS screens. If desired, manufacturers can easily produce 8" IPS screens. The only thing for most 8 "screens" is non-standard "today the aspect ratio is 4: 3, not 16: 9 or 16:10. The fact is that liquid crystal arrays are not produced individually, but" cut "from a large piece, conditionally, you can make four 8 "1024 * 768 matrixes, but you can make one 16" 2048 * 1536. Screens with an aspect ratio of 16: 9 and 16:10 from one blank are larger than screens 4: 3, therefore the cost of the latter is higher. rather than the mythical “great convenience.” First of all, the current dominance of widescreen LCD matrices is explained. CRT monitors, remember, this was not. Hence, it is more profitable to do IPS matrix 7 "16: 9, not 8" 4: 3 - the first will be much cheaper. If not for the iPad, now there would be no such dominance of matrices 9.7 "1024 * 768 4: 3. Simply, iPads are produced by a huge amount, and Apple’s highest screening requirements — for example, should not have broken pixels at all. Apple requires an A + matrix. But the percentage of marriage still exists - and these matrices go to inexpensive Chinese tablets. If you are lucky, the screen can be really no worse than the iPad. Now, when the iPad 2 is gradually leaving, the number of Chinese tablets 9.7 "1024 * 768 will also decrease (but over time, 9.7" 2048 * 1536 will appear - but they will be more expensive and will require a very powerful GPU).
it would be better if the front 2Mp
I agree. Among other things, this camera also needs a special case that would not close it. In general, the back camera in the tablet is not needed. But better frontal - welcome. Here I am impressed by the Ainol approach, but only in top tablets, Elf and above - one front camera of 2 MP. Compare front-facing cameras ICOO D70W (1.3 MP) and Teclast P85 (0.3 MP, VGA). The first clearly won.
NicolasG, I wrote in a hat that its price in China was $ 143, for 2 days on taobao the number of sellers increased 10-fold times (from -1 to 10), one already sold 4 pieces, several more by 1st ...
It is strange that Ali is still calm - not a single offer, even pre-sell. On the Panda, only the other day the original Ramos W13 appeared - at a not too tasty price of $ 160. For comparison, 16 GB of 1 GB of RAM Teclast P85 with the same screen (at least) cost Ali a little less than $ 150 for me with the Singapore Post. And then there is 8 GB 512MB of RAM. True, the Cortex A9 processor, the same Mali-400 (it is quite possible that it works at a lower frequency), has touch buttons (not the fact that they are needed, physical buttons on Teclast), two speakers located clumsily (on Teclast, it turned out that there are 2 speakers too, they are even more clumsy), there is an IR port (it seems) and a separate charging connector (this is useful, I don’t have enough of it in Teclast). But in Teclast aluminum case, which has a very positive effect on the thermal regime. In general, the price is clearly inadequate. Again, especially in the light of the fantastically low real prices for the Ramos W17Pro, really with delivery from $ 120 and even a little lower, proving that the SoC itself in the device is inexpensive.
Ramos W13Pro, of course, is much better than Ramos W17Pro:
Screen 8 "1024 * 768 vs. 7" 1024 * 600
The battery is 4000 mAh vs. 3200 mAh (but, it seems, not promised 5000 mAh, unfortunately. 4000 mAh is also stated in Teclast, really - 3900 mAh, judging by the photo disassembly, it is possible that there will be the same thing).
2 cameras against one, but the front is the same - dubious
There is an infrared port - this is to control the device as a multimedia player. In principle, it is useful if the console will be bundled, otherwise, again - a dubious advantage
There is HDMI - this is a clear plus, but the cable in the kit will still be forgotten.
A more pleasant design (subjectively), there are touch buttons (so-so advantage, I had the ICOO - they only interfered, the hardware buttons on Teclast - it's more convenient for me, and I won't accidentally click)
It seems I have not forgotten anything. It seems to me that these advantages do not pull on the price difference of a good $ 50.
Slowly starting to dream about
MOMO8 Speedalthough I like the W13Pro. But at a price of up to 170 dollars with delivery, no more.
