Installing official firmware using NSS Pro
This method is suitable forof allNokia phones, both on WP7 and WP8. For Lumia 710/800/900, the dload loader must be installed.
NSS Pro is an unofficial Nokia flasher that uses part of the NCS / NSU libraries for flashing official firmware.Flasher behaves very unstable on Win8The most common reason for departure is switching to another window. Therefore, if you still decide to use it on this OS, be patient, and do not switch to other windows during the firmware process.
  1. Download NSS Pro withofficial site(Mirror v.0.54 -1, 2, 3)
  2. Download and installfirmware drivers.
  3. Download the firmware files for your phone model (How to find out RM model and Product-code) from here
  4. We unpack the firmware into the necessary folders (folders markedgray-hidden, make sure that in the explorer is turned on the display of hidden files, markedgreenare missing if you did not download firmware via NCS, so you need to create it yourself):
    For XP:C: \ Documents and Settings \ All Users \Application data\ Nokia \ Packages \Products \ RM-xxx
    For Vista / 7/8:C: \ProgramData\ Nokia \ Packages \Products \ RM-xxx
In this folder you need to copy all the files obtained in a step earlier.
    Attached Image

  5. We connect the phone to USB in the normal mode, we run NSS Pro on behalf of the administrator.
  6. If the drivers are installed correctly, Nokia USB Connectivity should appear in the list of devices below. Press the Detect button, after which the phone's IMEI and its model should appear in the status bar.
    If only Window appears there
close NSS Pro, open Care Suite, wait until it switches the phone to the correct mode, close them, and without disconnecting the phone from the PC, go back to NSS Pro. Now the detection of the phone will be fine.

  7. Click the Flashing tab.>File Selection, in the Products section, select your phone model and click Flash.
  8. Wait until the end of the firmware process. I remind you:if you are flashing from under windows 8, do not switch to other windows by any means! If NSS crashes in the process of sending the firmware, you will receive a brick, which may not be possible to restore without the help of SC, depending on the stage at which the firmware process was interrupted!

How to find out the phone model in RM-xxx format, as well as your Product Code
  • The phone model in RM-xxx format is indicated on the phone box, on a sticker with a bar code
  • The phone model and product code are written either on a white sticker under the battery (for phones with a removable battery), or next to the SIM tray (for phones with a non-removable battery). Distinguishing the product code from the rest of the information is simple, it is seven-digit, and the PCT phones usually start with 059 (i.e., 059xxxx)
  • This data can be obtained programmatically — just run Nokia Care Suite, or Nokia Service Update, and connect the phone:

Determining the type of bootloader for the Lumia 710/800/900

Introduction:
Quallcomm bootloader is an engineering version of the Nokia Lumia bootloader that allows you to install custom firmware. It appeared thanks to the leakage of the signed firmware for the Lumia 710 on the official Nokia servers. It allows you to access directly to the NAND-memory of the phone and fill the firmware in the desired part of the file system, bypassing the process of checking the firmware file signatures.

The process of determining the type of loader:
  1. Install the necessary drivers in accordance with the bit width of your OS:Attached fileWinUSB Drivers.zip(5.61 MB)

  2. Turn off the phone.
  3. We hold down the volume + and power buttons, wait for a short vibration, release.
  4. Insert the USB into the phone.
  5. See how our phone is determined in Windows.
  6. If there is a new Quallcomm device and the system offers to format the disk(ATTENTION !!! DO NOT FORMAT !!!)- Congratulations, you have a Quallcomm bootloader.
  7. If you have a Nokia Dload device (or Nokia USB Connectivity) and does not offer formatting, then you have a DLOAD bootloader.

Device Manager Screenshots:

If the phone is determined somehow differently, then you have incorrectly connected the phone.

Install Quallcomm bootloader using NSS Pro
The way is suitable only for Lumia 710!
On the Lumia 610/800/900, you can install this bootloader ONLY through the programmer (ATF Box BB5 Easy Service Tool, Cyclone Box), and nothing else!
If you do not have one, you can contact the forum member in QMSVisglass. The whole process takes place remotely via the Internet, all you need is a relatively stable and fast Internet, patience, and about half an hour of free time. Do not forget, if possible, to thank the person who not only saved you an impressive amount of money, but simply spent his time on personal assistance.
  1. Download the driver, install the necessary in accordance with the bit of your OS.Attached fileWinUSB Drivers.zip(5.61 MB)

  2. Download NSS Pro withofficial site(Mirror v.0.54 -1, 2, 3), unpack into any convenient folder
  3. Download this archive with the loaders, and unpack it in the same folder as the NSS.Attached fileloaders.zip(781.59 KB)

  4. We start NSS Pro on behalf of the administrator, we connect the phone in the normal mode, we do not start zune. The phone should appear in the bottom list of devices as Nokia USB Connectivity.
    Attached Image

  5. Press the Detect button, after which the phone's IMEI and its model should appear in the status bar.
    If only Window appears there
close NSS Pro, open Care Suite, wait until it switches the phone to the correct mode, close them, and without disconnecting the phone from the PC, return to NSS Pro. Now the detection of the phone will be fine.

  6. At the top of the window, go to the Flashing tab, then at the bottom in WP7 Tools, click Install, and agree with the warning.
    Attached Image

  7. The phone will reboot, after which it will have a bootloader on board Quallcomm. Now you can install custom firmware and remove the symlock.

Custom firmware using NSS Pro version 0.47.1 and higher (alternative)

The disadvantage of this method compared to Lumia Downloader is that it overwrites the part of the phone’s memory in which the serial is stored to activate Live services, as a result of which it becomes impossible to use a hotmail account, and as a result, it’s impossible to use Marketplace. Therefore, you will have to receive a new key in Microsoft technical support (Getting the key)

  1. Download the latest version of NSS Pro withofficial site(Mirror v.0.54 -1, 2, 3)
  2. Download the custom firmware that we are going to install.
  3. We connect the phonewith quallcomm bootloaderto the PC (with the device turned off, hold down the volume + button and connect the cable). If Windows prompts you to format the disk, DO NOT DO THIS! This will kill the phone, and even in the SC you probably will not be able to help.
  4. Run NSS Pro as administrator, see belowNAND Disk Driveis the internal disk of the phone. If there are several disks in the list, do not be intimidated, read on.
    Attached Image

  5. Attached Image

Go to the tabFlashingthenWP7 Toolsand push the buttonParse fs. In the log on the left there should appear a table of sections of approximately the following content:
    ----------------------------------------------------
Looking for NAND disk ... Done.
Checking partition table 1 (SECBOOT) ... Done.
    -----------------------------------------------------------
    Partition addr: 0x00000200 (sector 1)
    Partition size: 0x0007D000 (1000 sectors)

    Checking partition table 3 (FAT16) ... Done.
    -----------------------------------------------------------
    Partition addr: 0x001F4200 (sector 4001)
    Partition size: 0x0927C000 (300000 sectors)
    -----------------------------------------------------------
Checking partition table 4 (NOKIA PMM) ... Done.
    -----------------------------------------------------------
    Partition addr: 0x09470C00 (sector 304006)
    Partition size: 0x00010000 (128 sectors)
    -----------------------------------------------------------
Checking partition table 5 (Enc backup 1) ... Done.
    -----------------------------------------------------------
    Partition addr: 0x09480C00 (sector 304134)
    Partition size: 0x00300000 (6144 sectors)
    -----------------------------------------------------------
Checking partition table 6 (Enc backup 2) ... Done.
    -----------------------------------------------------------
    Partition addr: 0x0C000000 (sector 393216)
    Partition size: 0x00300000 (6144 sectors)
    -----------------------------------------------------------
Checking partition table 7 (Enc backup 3) ... Done.
    -----------------------------------------------------------
    Partition addr: 0x0C300000 (sector 399360)
    Partition size: 0x00300000 (6144 sectors)
    -----------------------------------------------------------
Checking partition table 8 (OS / User) ... Done.
    -----------------------------------------------------------
    Partition addr: 0x10000000 (sector 524288)
    Partition size: 14749695 sectors
    -----------------------------------------------------------

  6. If the table is different, then this is not the disk, check further in the list until we find the correct one.
  7. Push buttonOS File, and select the prepared file with the firmware, clickWrite OS, the firmware process will begin.
  8. If you are using Windows 8,DO NOT SWITCH TO OTHER WINDOWS DURING THE FIRMWARE PROCESS! THIS IN 99% OF CASES WILL RESULT IN PROGRAM DEPARTURE!If the NSS still crashed, restart it and repeat from step 4
  9. Attached Image

If you see these lines in the log:
    Verifying data ... Done.
    - Restart power so changes can take effect -
If it doesn’t help, then remove the battery.

then the firmware was successfully copied to the phone, you need to exit the bootloader mode (on the Lumia 710, you need to remove and insert the battery, and on the Lumia 800, hold the power button for 10 seconds)

Installing an updated radio on Quallcomm loader
  1. In any available way, you get a working Linux or MacOS system to which you can connect the phone (except VirtualBox). You can use the archival manuals forlivecd(1-10 points), or forVMWare(1-18 points)
  2. When you connect the phone in the Quallcomm bootloader mode, it should appear in the system as a regular USB flash drive, with two folders: IMAGE and KEYSTORE
  3. Backup the contents of the IMAGE folder, and replace the files with new ones.
  4. Take the phone out of bootloader mode (on Lumia 710, you need to remove and insert the battery, and on Lumia 800, hold the power button for 10 seconds)
  5. Turn on as usual. If the phone hangs on the inscription NOKIA and then does not boot, repeat the procedure, and change the register of all three files in the IMAGE folder (AMSS.MBN instead of amss.mbn, etc.)

So, guys, if you almost have a brick in the form of Lumiya 800. Which is constantly in reboot, the maximum that does is shows the Nokia screen saver (or MTS as mine), we do the following.
So, what we have originally:
The device, which in NSS Pro when you click Detect shows N / A. When you try to enter OSBL MODE (volume + and on), it enters it and after 10-20 seconds it goes into reboot.

A small recovery instruction if dload bootloader:

1) Download the firmware for our device, we put it in the desired directory. Open the program NSS Pro go to the Flashing tab
In the bottom left of the program we see 3 tabs: File Selection, Options, WP7 Tools. In the Options tab in the Products Directory section, add the directory with the firmware (copy the path to the folder with the firmware in the explorer and enter the path in the empty line and click Add Path).
2) Go to the File Selection tab and select the phone model and firmware there.

3) On the phone:ATTENTION: You have about 5-7 seconds for all the items performed on the phone, then the phone is rebuilt again. We enter the OSBL MODE bootloader mode (volume + and power on), connect the phone to the PC. Select Nokia USB Connectivity and click the Detect button (at the bottom of the window with the program). If everything is correct then the values should appear above. The phone, meanwhile, is already being rebooted and hanging on the splash screen again.
4) Carefully read the words in red in the previous paragraph, because There is no more time for this item.
We enter the OSBL MODE bootloader mode (volume + and power on), connect the phone to the PC and press the Flash button.
If everything is correct and managed - then the phone will begin to reflash.

If the files are written with an error, it helped me to choose another firmware (or localization, I didn’t understand it .. my phone was not mine, I saw it working a couple of times only).

The second version with Quclcom bootloader firmware (or if you already have one):Nokia Lumia 800 - Firmware (Post ZZhjckfd # 46319316)
