What is a bootloader?
Bootloader (bootloader) - some system software that provides the loading of the operating system immediately after turning on the tablet.

How many loaders can I install?
Two total loaders - new (ICS) and old (HC)

What do the two abbreviations HC and ICS mean?
HC is short for Honeycomb, i.e. So called the old bootloader for our device
ICS is short for Ice Cream Sandwich, i.e. so called new bootloader for our device

New bootloader, where did it come from?
In official firmware 4.x, Acer changed the bootloader to a newer and more secure one. Some time later, after leaks of firmware for the A500 leaked to the network, the gurus with XDA found a vulnerability in this bootloader and successfully hacked it. Now users have a new bootloader with unlocked mode Fastboot.

And where did the old bootloader come from?
Used by Acer in Honeycomb firmware. Standard flashed into your tablet (if you have 3.0.1).

Should I change the bootloader?
The choice is only yours. This is recommended because Acer leakage firmware works better with the new bootloader. Now TegraOwners ICS Rom is for the new bootloader.

CPUID, SBK:

What is UID / CPUID?
This is a number that identifies your tablet.

What does the CPUID look like?
This number looks like this:

Why CPUID, and not just UID?
Because it is for the program rollback / firmware new loader CPUID is required (a more precise definition). He never changes. In Android Honeycomb it is also UID, and in Android Ice Cream Sandwich UID it becomes SNID (serial number)

Why is it important to know your CPUID?
Because if you know the UID - you can restore your tablet after losing EVEN Recovery. All thanks to the utility from Acer for firmware on 3.0.1

Loaders:

What is a bootloader?
Bootloader (bootloader) - some system software that provides the loading of the operating system immediately after turning on the tablet.

How many loaders can I install?
Two total loaders - new (ICS) and old (HC)

What do the two abbreviations HC and ICS mean?
HC is short for Honeycomb, i.e. So called the old bootloader for our device
ICS is short for Ice Cream Sandwich, i.e. so called new bootloader for our device

New bootloader, where did it come from?
In official firmware 4.x, Acer changed the bootloader to a newer and more secure one. Some time later, after leaks of firmware for the A500 leaked to the network, the gurus with XDA found a vulnerability in this bootloader and successfully hacked it. Now users have a new bootloader with unlocked mode Fastboot.

And where did the old bootloader come from?
Used by Acer in Honeycomb firmware. Standard flashed into your tablet (if you have 3.0.1).

Should I change the bootloader?
The choice is only yours. This is recommended because Acer leakage firmware works better with the new bootloader. Now TegraOwners ICS Rom is for the new bootloader.

CPUID:

What is UID / CPUID?
This is a number that identifies your tablet.

What does the CPUID look like?
This number looks like this:

0123456789abcdef

Why CPUID, and not just UID?
Because it is for the program rollback / firmware new loader CPUID is required (a more precise definition). He never changes. In Android Honeycomb it is also UID, and in Android Ice Cream Sandwich UID it becomes SNID (serial number)

Why is it important to know your CPUID?
Because if you know the UID - you can restore your tablet after losing EVEN Recovery. All thanks to the utility from Acer for firmware on 3.0.1

Personal recommendation:

• At the moment everything works, the firmware is excellent, 3G works stably, SOD was not noticed, GPS satellites are caught within 15-20 seconds, in the presence of 10-12pcs. There is only one drawback - the rights of the administrator of the 1st level, which is enough for ordinary users. For users who need full administrator rights (0th level), you must perform the following steps:
  
  1. Download the attached archive to the Win computer -ICS_rooting_A10x_A5xx.zip(863.26 KB)
  
  and unpack it at any convenient place on your hard disk.
  1a. For Linux users: In the archive above there is a script and executable files to run from under Linux systems. Startup script runit-linux.sh. Then everything is the same. Understand.
