Is the warranty lost during a flashing?
The warranty is lost in the event of a change in system files, but you can always return the phone to its original (factory) state by flashing.
What is an unofficial flash driver (SP_Flash_Tool)?
This is a program that is designed to flash the device with files from a previously created backup file.

Instructions on firmware

1. The battery must be charged, the more the better.
2. We start the firmware for FlashTool from spolerUnofficial (custom) firmware
3. Insert the file scatter downloaded from the spolerDrivers and UtilitiesScatter-loading
4. Insert consistently consonant files from the archive with the firmware into the program
5.Do not attempt to sew preloader, dsp_bl and secstatic because in the dump they are not encrypted. In the original, they are encrypted or reaped by something. If you flash them in an unencrypted (compressed) format, then the phone will stop loading.
6. Go to the top menu FlashTool andtick "Options" ->"USB mode", "Backup Restore NVRAM - Backup-Format-Download-Restore NVRAM" DO NOT TURN ON (No Action)
7. Note: ANDROID == system.img; USRDATA == data.img.
8. Now press the "Download" button at the top of the flash tool window. The countdown will begin, we connect the phone until the timer has expired. A progress bar will appear at the bottom, which should go up to 100%, after that the program will report that everything went well, and the charging icon will appear on the phone as in a normal connection.

Root

Before getting Root, you should find out what version of firmware you have.

What you need to know before the firmware

1. When restoring in both ways, the mac address of bluetooth and wi-fi is erased. Be sure to backup or write down your mac addresses.How to return your mac address.
2. If drivers were installed, programs from Alcatel (for example, one touch upgrade), then you need to remove them.
3. Charge the battery to 100%.
4. Desirable use of a native usb cable.
5. It is impossible to flash on a virtual machine.
6. Be sure to read the instructions carefully before inserting them several times, then watch the video instructions.

Firmware

1.Install the driver before connecting the phone. (The easiest way to install drivers is to install One Touch Upgrade S

2.You need to know in what condition the phone.
A. Start the device manager (Control Panel ->System ->Device Manager).
B. We connect the phone to the computer, wait for the devices to be installed (after that, it is advisable to disconnect the phone from the PC, remove the battery and reconnect the phone to the PC).

There are three possible options:

1. MTK USB port device appears for 2-3 seconds, then PreLoader USB VCOM device also for 2-3 seconds, then the battery charge indicator lights up. If after successful firmware the phone does not turn on, a hardware problem is possible, although this should be the case with a working preloader.

2. PreLoader USB VCOM device appears for 2-3 seconds. Stitched non native preloader.

3. MTK USB port device appears for 20-30 seconds. Overwritten preloader.

Further, there are two ways (the first is preferable, since the mac wi-fi address is not overwritten and no wi-fi errors are observed, the second for those who for some reason cannot have One Touch Update working)

First way

To solve the problem, you need to download the archive with the necessary software and unpack it. The archive contains: FlashTools_v2.1134.00, ONE TOUCH Upgrade S 1.8.2 and two folders: 2.3.5_Europe, preparation for upgrade to 2.3.5_v23AAMO (European version) and 2.3.6_Russia (GINGERBREAD), preparation for upgrade to 2.3.6_GINGERBREAD ( version for Russia).
1. First you need to decide which version you need to upgrade to.Alcatel claimsBoth versions are official and both are recent. Just one for Europe, the other for Russia. Apparatus for Russia - SoftTouch coating, Apparatus for Europe - MIX, i.e. with interchangeable panels.

2. Install ONE TOUCH Upgrade S 1.8.2. (On the Alcatel Russian-language website, ONE TOUCH Upgrade S 1.7.9 is available, but 1.8.2 is faster.)

3. Remove the back cover of the device (you will have to remove and insert the battery several times)

4. Launch FlashTools_v2.1134.00 and download MT6573_Android_scatter.txt from the folder with the selected version in its name.

5. Check the settings. It should be:
options ==>USB Mode enabled
options ==>Backup Restore NVRAM ==>(Backup NVRAM->Format->Download->Restore NVRAM) enabled

6. Turn off the phone, unplug the USB cable (if it is connected to the device), take out and insert the battery (this action should be done after each disconnection)

7. In the FlashTools program, press the Download button and quickly, within 10 seconds, connect the USB

8. After the end of the firmware, disconnect the USB, remove and insert the battery.

9. Run ONE TOUCH Upgrade S 1.8.2.

10. Choose language ==>OK ==>phone model ONE TOUCH 918 ==>Start ==>Next ==>YES (warning) ==>connect USB cable ==>Then follow the instructions. After the update is completed, the last time you remove and insert the battery, and finally close the back cover.

The second method restores 2.3.5

Overwrite the preloader (if you have the second option). Use MT6573_Android_scatter_Alcatel_OT_918D - kill preloader.txt from the archive.

1.We are stitching using MT6573_Android_scatter.txt from the archive, tick all the checkboxes. Sew the preloader and dsp_bl together.

2.The firmware is already modified recovery. We go in recovery (hold down the volume button + turn on, until recovery appears) and do wipe.

3.Reboot and enjoy (the first download takes a long time)!

Noted problems:

1.When you turn on wi-fi, an open network appears NVRAM WARNING Err = 0x10.Decision.
After the phone is restarted, the problem returns, the error treatment procedure will need to be repeated.
