I chose an application for video messaging using a smartphone on mtk6589. Requirements: excellent sound and video quality, stability in operation. Leaders in sound and video were Line, Skype and Hangouts. The sound is generally great. The voice is natural and in the headphones the feeling that the interlocutor seems to be close by. But!
Skype very often interrupts the call, often hangs, and sometimes can not call the subscriber. But you can find out that the subscriber is online.
Hangouts - everything would be fine, if he didn’t take off with an error after 20 minutes and then, in order for the camera to work, you need to restart the phone. The interface is uncomfortable and confusing - you can search for the call completion button for a long time. You can only send photos.
The line in this regard is much more stable, and if you add that it is much more functional, and the quality of the video and sound is the same, then for the time being it is based on it.
Almost all instant messengers do not allow to broadcast your video if the screen is extinguished. Your video is automatically turned off. I do not know why this is done?
I also tested weChat, Tango, ooVoo and Viber. All of them did not provide good sound and video quality, which means I cannot recommend them. In Tango, the sound is deaf, and the video is so-so. In weChat, there are a lot of different functions and the interface is good, but the sound has a metallic tone. In ooVoo, an image often looks like a dirty gray wool. Viber has no video calls at all, so it cannot be considered an analogue of Skype.
That is, in fact, my experience of testing video messengers. I use the line and I can advise everyone.
