No, this is a design feature. The lid is thin and large, but the manufacturer did not guess to make a “latch” in this place.

I ordered my device from Germany - there was a small assembly defect in it that I was able to fix myself.
The defect was the following:
On the front side above the power button there was a slot of ~ 0.3 mm (between the screen and the “edge”). In the gap was visible some kind of plate, slightly larger than the power button. Press the "side" did not work. There was a thought that this disc did not hit the groove.
Corrected so:
With the blade of a clerical knife a little (lightly) "pushed" the plate down, which was visible, and after that it was easy to press the "edge" (the thought about the groove was confirmed) - now the same gap is everywhere around the screen.
