(Patch Utility Manager)

The program for PC-compatible computers is designed to install the most universal patches in applets / Samsung firmware libraries. It supports work with both coded and deodexed components of most firmwares of I9100 / I91 **, I9300, I9500, G850, G900 *, G920 * / G925 *, G928 *, G930 * / G935 *, N7000, N7100, N900 * devices , N910 *, N920 *, I9001, I9250 (Galaxy NEXUS), I8150, P5100 / 5110, T310 / 311. Some patches are likely to be installed on other Android-based communicators. Work with external patches is supported (for a description of the format and working with them, see the PUMa_extpatch.txt file). Optionally added the ability to download external data from the Internet. Download information is stored in the dllink.bin archive file. The following types of downloads are available:
• Modem FW (modem firmware)
• Dump FW (dumps of stock firmware (aka the contents of the system folder))
• Dump Content (the contents of the firmware dump, divided into parts according to certain categories)
• Camera (camera firmware)
• Firmware (general firmware of devices)
• Program (software and utilities)

Attention !!Due to the fact that some anti-virus programs (Norton360, NOD32, Avast) have a somewhat paranoid virus detection algorithm, they "find the virus" in PUMa.exe. This is a lie, because the program is simply packed with an exe-packer to save space. Place the PUMa.exe file in Antivirus Exceptions so that it does not annoy you anymore. Also below is the MD5-hash of the PUMa.exe file, according to which you can verify its correctness when getting from any sources

To those who have their first day on Android and want to use the products of this program, I explain that the program patches the applets / libraries. After application, the patched files are copied to the machine over old files. In order to copy the patched files from the computer to the machine in the system folder (/ system / *)are neededroot-rights (Root). 4) the obtained patched files can be applied to the firmware either manually, by copying over the old files (with their preliminary backup) to the device, or using the created update_archive for ClockWorkMode / Recovery<3e>
5) in the case of patches of files from the framework, lib folders -Be sure to set the correct rights to replaced files. (you can see the rights of nearby files, most likely it is 644 (rw-rr--)), from the app and priv-app folder it is desirable.

ATTENTION!! Patches like "DEX" for firmware 5. * apply ONLY TO DEODEXED FILES !! After replacing the stock apk-file with a patched one, BEFORE rebooting the device, it is NECESSARY to delete the ARM folder located in the applet folder next to the apk-file.

When working with a patch, the program, if possible, informs about the state of the applet / library being processed as follows:

• Installed- patch applied
  
• Present- the patch is already installed in the object
  
• Impossible- the patch cannot be applied to this object
  
• Partially installed- some patch options are installed
  
• Mismatch- the firmware version of the object does not match the installed device type / AOS patch

Solution: After applying this patch, old SMS \ MMS remain in the list. This patch will be valid only for new SMS \ MMS.Old must be removed manually

Solution: If all the conditions described in the program are met when calling this procedure and ADBworks then copy the necessary files from the device to the computer by hand. What files for patches to copy?
a) open the program

c) go to the device and copy the necessary file to the program from it on the computer in the IN subfolder with the program

e) reopen the program

Problem:The program patches files, but they either do not work, or the device does not load with them
Solution: If the files are replaced manually, then the algorithm of action, ideally, is as follows:
1. we program files
2. copy patched files to the device (for example, to the root \ system)
3. we set the rights (permissions) to patched files by analogy with the rights of similar stock files on the device
4. move somewhere (to be able to restore in case of what) stock files that will have to be replaced with patched ones
5. we move patched files on directories in which they should be
6. if among the patched files there are odex files, then it is highly desirable to clean the dalvik cache (delete the / data / dalvik-cache folder)
7. reboot the device

Problem:What files for the patch should be copied to the IN folder?
Solution: If you hover over the "Required files from the device" window, we will see a drop-down hint "The brackets indicate the files needed in the case of the deodexed firmware". This text suggests that in the case of a deodex firmware, it is necessary to place in the folder IN the file that is specified in the curly brackets. If the firmware is ODEX, then you need to place in the folder IN file, which is OUTSIDE the brackets

Problem:On the deodexed firmware AOS 6.0 and higher, after applying any patched DEX file, there are problems with the device’s performance (hang, non-working hard buttons, etc.)
Solution: BEFORE replacing apk with the patched one, you need to clear the davik cache (completely remove the data \ dalvik-cache folder), replace apk, immediately reboot the device
