Acer ICONIA TAB A100 - A101 - Firmware.

Description A100 | Description A101 | Discussion | Firmware | Embellishments | Accessories | FAQ
Important information
Problems and methods for solving them:

Anyone who received an update to the ICS is not a Russified version of the android
for your systemsbegan to receive updates from the Russification!
If for any reason the update did not come to your version, then a partial solution with the problem of Russification, for those who managed to flash the non-Russified ICS, watchhereandhere is a remarkOr flip through ICS version 1.014 from the header.

When you roll back from ICS (android 4) to HC (android 3.2), you get cyclorebut, onlyhardcore!

For owners of A101 tablets - the official update to ICS is out! Watchhere.

Attention! Read first!
First readAcer A100 / A101 FAQandAndroid OS FAQ!
This branch is created by enthusiasts and for enthusiasts and people who want to get a little more from the tablet than originally intended by the manufacturer. If you, before applying something from the instructions of this branch, did not carefully read the reviews on the topic that interests you (the search on the branch works!), And in their absence did not ask questions, and, most importantly (!), Did not ask yourself question - "Why do I need it?", then all claims for wasted time, please, present yourself. Respect your and other people's time!

Read to everyone who has problems with the inclusion or flashing of the tablethere!

Official firmware:
Before you roll back from ICS to HC, read it!
When you roll back from ICS to HC, you have a boot loop. I advise you to save everything from internal memory, save applications, for example, with Titanium Backup. To make a hard cut, you need to act sharply here:
  1. turn off to zero
  2. we press the volume button up (far from the lock switch) and set this switch to the "locked" state
  3. Turn on the device. as soon as the power button lights up in blue - release it. as soon as the vibration starts - quickly pull the lock switch back and forth.
  4. erasing userdata should appear on the screen
  5. all :) a reboot will occur and you will get a virgin tablet.

if it doesn't work right the first time, no problem, try again
Thanks for the instructionvdsirotkin.

For Acer ICONIA A100:

For Acer ICONIA A101:

Firmware via computer via USB, for A100 Honeycomb (Android v3.2.1):

Custom firmware:
Before installing, check!
Before installing custom firmware, unlocking the bootloader or installing custom recovery, check foremmc brickbug.
So, here is a small instruction:
  1. Put the programemmc brick bug from play market
  2. Run the program, resolve the root.
  3. We start Check Memory
  4. The program will check the memory, byte by byte. My speed was about 15-20 mb / s.
    • If your device is frozen or does a very long time checking (for 20 minutes), then you have a problem / emmc. Just reboot
    • If your test was successful, continue to use the tablet.

  5. We write our results here (if you, of course, do not mind), indicating:
    Type:
    Date:
    CID:
    FwRev:

You can learn these lines from the same program. We write the results in order to understand which parties went with the marriage.

How to install custom firmware
To install custom firmware, you need an installed CWM or TWRP custom recovery.
The scheme is as follows:
  1. Fasten to leaked or official ICS.
  2. We put the unlocked bootloader.
  3. We put CWM or TWRP custom recovery.
  4. Through custom recovery flash custom firmware.

For instructions on installing custom recovery and unlocked bootloader, see the Instructions section. Without a unlocked bootloader, you will not install custom recovery, without custom recovery you will not install (well, or very difficult to install) custom firmware.
At the moment, the unlocked bootloader and custom recovery do not work with Honeycomb with official firmware, how to roll back to the stock HC firmware, read the Instructions section.

I see. And he wrote that he was very brave, ready for anything.))

If it was Xperia x8, I would have tried anything, it’s impossible to kill him along the way ... And with Acer I’m afraid for now ... It’s not possible to restore him through the computer yet ...

It is now sewn from a memory card through a stock recovery. But through EUUs through a computer such as the A500, it is not yet sewn, it does not accept CPUID for some reason ... apparently the version of EUUs is not the same ...
And I'm not sure that after an unsuccessful installation of the custom, it can be flashed through the stock Recovery, the more I don’t understand if it will kill your ROM stock recovery ...

Quite right, but only EUUs do not accept cupid obtained by these methods.
In the "com", the problem is not yet known, but through the computer, for the time being, it is not possible to flash on the A100.

I confirm it accepts first, but then gives an error

zarubkin_daabout time is also interesting.
And who does not know will be 3.2,1 just for the A100? And not for the A101 that works on the A100.

I think that it will, but without Root, it’s somehow not very interesting, and it’s not a fact that you can roll back from it ...
In general, I'm rather waiting for 4 android, 3 is unlikely to be finished well as it should ..

I did not fool with Root yet, I did it on the old firmware without problems. I needed only one program, so that other applications worked through an Internet proxy, now there is no need.
By the time the battery works, I tested it when working with GPS, it works for about 1.5 hours without charging and I did not test it until the end, I put it on for the night. Today, my daughter and I went to the museum in Moscow traffic jams, watched a movie alone, a cartoon, then I watched news through SPB-TV, I hit the GPS on the way back, I really wanted to discharge it to zero. As a result, in the red zone of the battery, at 21.00, only lit up, and left at 12 o'clock. It seems to me that in the newer, a more balanced expense for different applications has become.

so you can flash back to 3.2 with update.zip
