A501_4.483.01_EMEA_TMPL Note:
This is for Acer A501, not A500.
At 500 it can work, but you have to modify the build.prop file to read Wi-Fi only. (Ro.carrier = wifi-only).
You can add this line at the end of build.prop. System folder / You can do this on your computer before installation.
Additions, Changes, installation, hacks- Clean HC 3.2.1
I will say that I noticed, between 3.2 and 3.2.1, namely this:
Improved application performance. Almost zero delay.
Increased sensitivity of the screen (compared to stock 3.2).
This firmware has been tested on my tablet, and it works without problems so far, like other testers.
All applications and games work as stated.
Why do you want to use my firmware?
Probably not many firmware specifically for the A501, and it seems to me that the situation will not change.
Most are too focused on the A500 or ICS.
Not to mention that in the official firmware 3.2.1 (A501), I was initially deprived of most of the internal memory,
Yes, and the battery sits faster, because of the "native" stuff stuffed there trash-software ... The only thing left from the Acer software, after installing my firmware, is
- Google service
- Digital Clock (people are used to the Androids alarm clock)
- Android Keyboard (keyboard)
Yes, there are a couple of firmware for 501, converted from 500. But I have a clean 501 HC 3.2
And I ask you if you want to use the 500 firmware that has been changed to be 501?
Do you want your display to freeze when you are in 3G, due to a kernel mismatch?
Do you want the system to reboot spontaneously?
Or would you prefer to have a stable factory ROM?
We tested this firmware as much as possible.
Adding your own kernel, which has been tested, allows you to set the best ratio between
clock frequency of the processor and battery life.
Yes, there is another kernel to use, but unfortunately, I can not put it in this ROM.
External drive support For NTFS, download the Drive Mount program from Market (tested and working)
For FAT32 it works fine, without third-party programs.
For Ad-hoc support, I think now, someone who needs it knows where to get it.
If you can’t get GPS for some reason, you can try 1 link in the forum.
Lately, it seems no one needs it anymore, as in the 3.2 release.
This release is based on Acer_A501_4.483.01_EMEA_TMPL.
RichardTrip core based on longer battery life at speeds from 216 GHz to 1646 GHz. I would like to thank:
KJY2010 - As usual, for useful advice and great understanding and for being my friend.
RichardTrip - per core (SRC LNK on its page)
JaeKar99 - for Boot animation. (No, I will not change it), but you can also change how someone likes.
Special thanks to these people for testing, to make sure that I did everything right, and there are no errors in the firmware;
Ordio

Thank you for testing my firmware, and tolerance for the speed of my work.
Kernel 3.2.1 is not changed, with the exception of the Framework for the default wallpaper.
All major files are 100% Acer.

What works .... everything. I do not see that something would not work.
What is deleted: Almost everything from Acer. And I say that.
All Acer games.
All unnecessary things Acer, which load the processor.
Installed Applications :
- In addition to the usual SU and Busybox ...
- Asus weather
- Adfree (change file host)
- Bluetooth file transfer
- Master Free processor
- Root Explorer (free version)
- Keyboard hackers
- MX Video Player w / codecs
- Terminal
- Sdrescan
- Card games (I love these things when I'm bored)
Acer applications (from the system) moved to the data section for easy deletion:
- Acer media
- Acer aupeo
- HD File Manager
- Kobo
- LumiRead
- Google voice
- TegraZone games
- Zinio reader
- Loft Game Shop
- 3D Photo Browser
(Note that 3D Photo Browser supports this useless application.
but I left it in the data section (not in the system one) in case someone thinks it is cool.
Note that after launching, it is in the system memory until you delete the application or kill the process).
Note: I deleted Acer Media Player.
I would advise using WinAmp from the Android Market to play audio files, or any other audio player you want.
Installation: For
Clockwork Recovery1. format data - clearing the section with user data and settings
2. format cache - clearing the cache partition
3. Wipe Dalvik Cache - cleaning Dalvik cache
4. Wipe Battery Stat - reset battery statistics
Choose Go Back, Goto Mounts and Storage
1. format system - cleaning the system partition
2. Cache format
3. Dalvik format
4. Flexrom format (optional, depending on the version, you do not need to do this)
Select Go Back and choose Install from Zip Files
Choose Alexander III Rev 1.1.zip
For
RA RecoverySpecial note!:
versions of RA Recovery 3.14 do not have the ability to format Flexrom.
This is what caused the loop to animate on first boot.
I advise to upgrade RA Recovery to version 3.15
(3.14)
Wipe (clear):
Data / Factory Reset
Data
Cache
Android.secure
Dalvik
(3.15) This should take care of the looping animation.
Wipe (clear):
Data / Factory Reset
Dalvik
System
Select go back and select Install from Zip Files
Choose Alexander III Rev 1.1.zip
Note: You can get the offset error xxxx. Never mind.
After the installation is complete, go back, and reboot the system.
If you are stuck on Boot animations, perform Reboot Recovery - restart recovery, Wipe (clear): "data, Dalvik, systems and cache",
and then reinstall.
It seems that Acer changed some things to install the A501 3.2.1. You do not need to format anything.
You will see a small “flash” in the Acer logo. This is normal when booting the kernel.
In addition, when working for the first time, you will get "OK" lines like "Acer" (blinks a little), this is normal, this completes your APK installer.
The default language is Poliski (Polish), so you can change it at the beginning.
No, I'm not going to change it,
since it is TMPL, and I have no idea what country you are in.
For overclockinguse CpuMaster and set the processor speed you need.
1504 GHz is the most stable (debugged).
Install the bootloader as "on demand" and "Interactive" for longer battery life.
Select "Apply at boot time."
If you don't like CPUMaster, then you can delete it, and use SetCpu or PimpMyCpu.
Denial of responsibility:
Everything you do is at your own risk!Of course, all comments are welcome, both good and bad.
I think this is the best firmware for 501!
Reference 1 Reference 2 Here are remote Acer games :
Please note that you will have to unzip the Zip file on your computer.
Copy the game.apk to the Data / app folder, check permissions (read-write-execute; should be set like other apps),
and install. I do not know what you will install, so I offer them all in the form of an archive.
Download ACER GAMES from server 1 Download ACER GAMES from server 2 Here are remote Acer system applications :
Unzip the computer. Copy * .apk (and associated ODEX files, if any) into your system / app folder.
Check permissions (do the same as other applications), and then restart the tablet.
I will not give a 100% guarantee that everything will work correctly for you. If you have questions, let me know.
Some system applications are dependent on other people.
Also note that some of these applications, the system will continue to keep in memory as a process after use. That's why I deleted them.
Download ACER System APPS Server 1 Download ACER System APPS Server 2This is my latest firmware on HC 3.2.x. However, if you have links to another ROM COM_GEN A501,
with which no one else has worked, and you need it, I will be happy to remake it. Just send me a link.
ICS will come in a couple of months, and I doubt that Acer will release updates for HC in the future.
I loved working with these firmwares, and I enjoyed socializing with everyone. But it's time to get better.
So I hope that this ROM will give you great pleasure.
Stable and smooth operation of your device! Thank! Battery modes Note: this is only for Alexander III, or ROM of the same TMPL assembly.
Any use of these mods on a different ROM will produce some "very strange results."
Special thanks - Ordio We finally got them de-and re-compile!
As in the past firmware of Alexander II, these mods are just as beautiful and original.
