Just yesterday I updated my 3GS with the old bootrome to 6.1.6. Did this:
1. Downloaded firmware 6.0 and 6.1.6 for 3GS
2. Recovered to 6.1.6 from DFU mode in iTunes
3. In redsn0w I substituted firmware 6.0, I inserted the phone into DFU, I got an untethered jail on the old bootrom
4. After rebooting, I turned off the phone, launched redsn0w again, chose to install the modem 06.15
5. I turned off the phone again, in redsn0w I chose to lower the modem from 06.15 to 05.13
6. After rebooting, I launched sidium, updated everything, and installed ultrasn0w. Bond caught right away.

I did everything for my 3G.
As it was - there was a body with a modem 06.15, the network did not catch, custom 3.1.3 firmware. Redsn0w did not accept the downgrade with this firmware.
I did this - updated via iTunes to official 4.2.1 - I got error 1015 and a string, but I also needed firmware on the body 4.2.1 and got it, then go to redsnow 0.9.15b3 with a lace - I lowered everything according to the instructions to 05.13 - It did not work out 1 time (when loaded on the body, the wafer, bluetooth and IMEI disappeared, the body itself went into reboot after 1-2 minutes + a constant search for the network). Then the experiments began, namely - only through the redsnow 0.9.14b1 program - all according to the instructions (only left one checkbox for lowering the modem to 05.13) - in the end everything turned out, the waffle started and Sidia set, although I removed the checkbox from it - more I launched Sidia and updated everything in it that I was asked to + put ultrasn0w installed - and Beeline earned ... In the end, everything turned out - maybe someone can help as well as me.

I got some kind of enchanted device ... iPhone 3GS, an American tied to AT & T(untiedofficially) . Firmware 6.1.6, modem 06.15.00, S / N 88925NNK3NR, the bootloader is old. I reflashed it on everything that is possible, on a computer, laptop, on Windows XP, 7, 10, x86, x64, on the drain, by custom, with cutting out of the modem, with raising, lowering, with hacking, with swearing ... The result is always one is stuck on 06.15.00 and "Downgrade baseband failed".
After a few days of struggle, I won it with the help of3uTools:
1. Connect the device to a laptop in DFU mode.
2. Launched 3uTools and saved SHSH: Flash JailBreak>Advanced>Backup SHSH from apple(C: \ Program Files (x86) \ 3uTools \ Download \ shsh_file)
3. Wired to 4.1 (3uTools is not friendly with 6.1.6): Flash JailBreak>Pro flash>Select firmare>iPhone2,1_4.1_8B117_Restore.ipsw>Open>Flash now
4. Translated to DFU and lowered the modem: Flash JailBreak>Advanced>3G / 3GS Downgrade baseband(pineapple hung for a long time)

I had it on Windows 10 x64, even in compatibility mode. In Win 7 and XP, redsn0w never crashed.
