1. Windows CE6 operating system firmware (Chinese and English).

According to some data, in some cases, you must first lower the version of the firmware (Chinese - index "CN"), and then flash the necessary version with an increase in the firmware number with the index "EN". This information is subject to doubt. It was done yesterday from version 1.34 to version 1.51 without these rises and falls.
The SD card should be small in size (I used 256 MB) with the FAT16 file system.
All firmware files must be put in the root of an empty SD card.
If you add an additional _format_ file to the firmware files, the internal memory will be formatted, as well as the contents of the StaticStore (think about the backup!).

Take care of power continuity (do not turn off the motor, do not turn off the power supply of the +12 V mains supply, etc.) before and during the firmware process, wait until the firmware process is completed (about 2 minutes).

2. Replacing the starting Logo when the device is turned on.

We put in the root of the SD card a graphic file with the extension * .bmp with a size of 800x480 (16 and 24 bit color depth is suitable), insert the card, turn off the device, turn on the device. In this case, the logo is absorbed and will be displayed on subsequent reboots (checked personally).
When you simply rename files, for example * .jpg to * .bmp, the result is unknown!

3. Acting shells, skins, modification, update.

Update folder D2280 need ONLY! using the update.exe utility:
a) Drop Update.exe in the root of SD.
b) In the device interface, go to Options / System and click Update.
If Update.exe at the root of the map, the utility will close all shell processes and exit to Windows. Only then can you manipulate the folder D2280. The file Update.exe is not only an installer, it is a script that completes all the necessary processes. Just do not say that you can use some task manager. 4. A little bit about using a Bluetooth whistle to connect GPRS:

For the sake of baldy, I decided to connect a whistle to the Bluetooth host. WinCE6 firmware EN-PRIMA-ARM-SLC-V1.51
Surprisingly, the driver was not requested.
I went to the \ Settings \ Control Panel \ Bluetooth Device Properties and through a device scan, I discovered my Nokia. Activated all possible services.
Going into the DUN settings, created a new connection and selected a phone modem, which automatically appeared in the list. Made all the settings for the Internet in a standard way. Internet connection works, the connection keeps steadily.
Winda herself assigned the necessary serial BSP ports.
Internet according to HKLM \ Software \ Microsoft \ Bluetooth \ modem hooked on BSP4.
The print services were activated (on BSP3), OBEX (did not find the connection data), LAN (was unavailable), file transfer (did not find the connection data, an error occurred while trying to transfer the file from the phone to the device), ActiveSync (on BSP2, while I do not know how to activate).
Interestingly, the phone sees two devices with Bluetooth on the device. One with the name 2271, the second - with the name WindowsCE.
Intuitively, we can conclude that the blue-tooth MCU module is used for working with the phone, and in my case the whistle is the Windows itself. And both devices work independently. Because in the list of devices when scanning bluetooth devices from a device, in addition to the telphone, a blue tooth of the device was already visible under the name D2271 (three services were displayed with ID 0018e40c5309)
I read somewhere that someone had problems with drivers and connecting whistles. Probably this does not apply to my version of the firmware.
I see that if it is necessary to connect an OBD2 Bluetooth whistle, then there should be no problems.

5. Organization of GPRS Internet connections on different drivers using the example of Huawei E1550 and ZTE MF100 modems

5.1 Internet on USBSER.DLL driver for Huawei E1550 modem

I tried to use the usbser.dll driver to connect to the Internetfrom here. After specifying the path to the driver, everything in the registry was established automatically without dancing with endpoints. The modem name is CDMAModem. The Internet started on the first try.
If I am not mistaken, it seems that this driver was discussed, that he worked for 30 minutes, and then chopped off the connection. But he did not check. I was interested in the fact of connection and the fact that there is no need to select and edit anything for the E1550 modem. Who cares, try.

6. Script for balance request for Kyivstar operator

I post the balance check script for mobile operators running on WinCE6 on our device from the respected Esnet. Immediately, I’ll make a reservation that the script was written under my order for the operator Kyivstar. But maybe someone will also come in handy. The script can process two USSD requests, but not immediately, but separately. Not processed request must be commented out in lines 61 or 62 of the wr1.mscr file. In my case these are requests:
- * 111 # (balance on account) and
- * 112 # (balance of prepaid minutes for calls within Ukraine and other operators, except Kyivstar, balance of prepaid minutes for calls to Kyivstar subscribers, balance of prepaid SMS, balance of prepaid Internet traffic).
When developing a script, if the Internet connection was active, then it is closed and temporary endpoints are temporarily registered in the registry to request a balance. After working out the script, the registry settings are returned to a state suitable for the work of the Internet and the modem is overloaded. You can add, if necessary, automatically start an Internet connection.

8.3 Installing the Road Rover Universal on the Skoda Octavia Tour.

First of all, he discovered that when installed in a mine, the radio tape recorder becomes asymmetrical with respect to its edges.
Knowing that it would be necessary to do the frame yourself, I pasted thick rubber strips (about 5mm thick) on the bottom of the device so as not to block the ventilation holes. Rubber cut not the entire width of the device to provide better ventilation.

In order to securely fix the device I had to remove the dashboard console from the car. In independent flight, having no experience, I had to suffer, since the manufacturer competently thought out the interlocking of cabin parts. But with the help of the previously purchased service book, the Internet, some scant prompts from the Skoda service center in Kiev, who wanted to install my device with their powers, as well as their own desire, the console was removed.
I glued a strip of rubber to the upper part of the mine flush with its butt on a double-sided tape to create a platform for gluing the frame in the future, as well as on the bottom of the device.

I was pleasantly surprised to find that the two threaded holes in the device located on the back side coincide with the holes in the console shaft.
I screwed threaded rods into these holes, locking them against the body with nuts, installed a rubber gasket made of the same thick rubber between the back of the device and the back of the shaft, and fixed the device with nuts, placing large washers under them:

It turned out not bad. The device has depreciation from all sides, at the same time it is fixed motionless and without backlash, the possibility of ventilation is preserved. Along the outer contour of the device there is a space of the same width for setting the frame.
USB connectors temporarily tied nylon ties to the locations of the stubs of unused space for buttons. In perspective, one of the connectors (for current use) will be installed inside the cap, but this will be later, when the frame is ready.

We import the registry.
For normal operation, you need the following files in the Windows package:

If everything is ok, then WiFi networks will appear on the taskbar and a new connection will appear in the connections. I don't remember what the name was, but I renamed it RaLink:

9.2.2 Connecting to a WiFi network via an access point:

1. Click on the TVs and select the Wireless Information tab in the pop-up menu, click the Advanced button, activate the "Use Windows to configure my wireless settings" checkbox, select "Only access points" and click OK.

2. Then we search for our network, select it in the list and click the Connect button:

Enter the network key and press the "Enter" key on the keyboard. Upon successful connection, a window will appear:

Now, if you click the Advanced button, we will see our network in the list of preferred networks.

If you look at the other tabs, we will see what settings the OS assigned to our adapter.

My network address does not change from connection to connection, so I did not bother with the static address of the network adapter, the subnet mask and the Internet gateway. Thank God works and so.

9.2.3 Setting up a WiFi AdHoc connection (connection between the device and the BB via WiFi, point-to-point mode).

1. Preparation of BB:
1.1 First of all, if your BB is connected to a WiFi network, you need to disconnect via the tray icon. In my example, the network is called "MyHomeWLAN":

1.4 Configure the connection settings as shown in the screenshot, taking into account additional help on entering the network key. The network name is entered for an example as an abbreviation "Point-to-Point" (Point-to-point) and can be any.

1.5 Upon completion of all actions, click the "Next" button and in the drop-down menu, click the "Close" button.

At this preparation of the BB to work is completed.
2. Preparing the device.
2.1 We click on two TVs in the device tray, so that the WiFi adapter settings window is displayed on the screen, and we see that there is no connection to the MyHomeWLAN network:

2.4 Put the cursor in any field after the entered information and press the Enter key on the virtual keyboard. I only managed to save the entered information. Again we get to the "Wireless information" window:

3. Establishing a connection between the BB and the device:
3.1 On the device, in the "Wireless information" window, select our "P2P" network and click the "Connect" button. In this case, the devi starts searching for a given network:

3.2 On the BB via the tray icon, select our P2P network and click the Connect button:

3.3 On the BB in the opened window "Connecting to the network", enter our correct security key and click "OK":

3.4 On the BB in the tray we see a message that the connection is established, but without access to the Internet. In our situation, the Internet is not needed and the discussion of this issue is beyond the scope of this post.

3.5 We look at the screen of the device and see that the connection to the "P2P" network is established:

3.6 On the device, go to the "IP Information" window and read the required IP address to control the device with the BB, for example, through the SOTI Pocket Conteroller Pro program.

Prepare BB to work:
1. Download, install on the BB and patch the program Pocket Controller Profrom here
