Somehow, in the Windows settings, I made sure that the power went directly to the laptop bypassing the battery and, accordingly, it did not charge. Before I did this, the battery indicator showed 100% and a red X, they say the battery is worn out. After my manipulations, the indicator showed 0% and the red cross no longer showed, just "0%, charging." The battery does not blink while running animation as when charging.
