PocketScumm is a launcher for games that are still the best games of the time to this day. You can play games such as Sam & Max, once again recall the journey of a dog and a rabbit, two fearless police officers who can circumvent all obstacles, overcome all difficulties and achieve their goal. You can also recall such a series of games as Monkey Island. The first 3 parts calmly run on your little animal. Guybrush Triplewood will again go along the very roads that you walked in the early 90s, only he will already be at your place, but on the street, in the car, in the subway, institute, and anywhere! I also remember just a wonderful quest about students, which is called Day Of The Tentacle. In it, 3 students go by mistake of one scientist at different times and try to return to one single present ... You can talk a lot, you can put a nostalgic tear on a lot and try to remember only somewhere in the depths in your memory ...



But the developers of the ScummVM engine came together and decided to recall nostalgic times and bring their heroes back to life in new flesh and blood. Now all the heroes are independent of the desktop computer, now they can walk on the screens of such devices as: MacOs, Linux, OS / 2, Fedoda, PSP, Symbian, WM, Amiga, Dreamcast.

A quest about aliens, a mad scientist and students.



Thirsty, the Violet Tentacle "drank" water from the river, where Professor Edison poured his experimental muck. So, quite unexpectedly, one of the tentacles became smart! And he also had additional limbs growing up, which immediately needed to grab something. The whole world, for example. Edison, of course, noticed this shit on time and imprisoned the purple shoot in the dungeon. Where, by stupidity, he was freed by three friends. Now he and you need to correct the situation, having flown into the past and blocked the fennel there, through which toxins got into nature ...
Unlike the first part, here you will not be allowed to die, they will allow you to laughter loudly over the voiced jokes (in the cd version) and, if you really want to, you can even play the original Maniac Mansion (game in the game). The graphics are excellent, the music is also nothing, the number of interface buttons has been reduced to nine (and this is not bad).

A snowman melted away (almost literally) from the carnival platform (almost literally). A couple of crazy detectives go in search of him. "A six-foot dog in a raincoat and a felt hat and a three-foot naked something like a rabbit" will trample the whole country before they find the fugitives (and there are two of them!).
Full of non-trivial humor, the gameplay of the popular comic book series grabbed a considerable audience of loyal fans who are still not overjoyed by their favorites. Despite the visual evidence of humor, yet most of it is hidden in the conversations of Sam and Max and other characters. Great reason to do English!

Loom
A colorful quest launched on PocketScumm



A 17-year-old weaver named Bobbin Tredbair, who is little familiar with the wisdom of his profession, is thrown out by his “colleagues” who turn into a flock of swans. Before that, they turned his mother into a duck, and Bobbin goes after them, across the sea.
A truly unique toy, with a complete lack of familiar equipment, and "musical magic" serves to solve all the puzzles. Spells consist of 4 notes (you will recognize them during the game). Moreover, the lucky ones endowed with hearing can memorize these combinations by ear - one has only to set the complexity to the maximum.
The original game came complete with an audio cassette on which the prologue was recorded. Later, a voiced VGA version was already released on CD, and the version where this prologue was recorded on the second disk.

Maniac mansion
The first quest written on the Scumm engine.



Near a Victorian estate, a meteorite fell. And now, for twelve years, as Dr. Fred Edison went nuts, doing his experiments, his sister Edna turned into a zombie, and cousin Ted ... just died. Of course, the meteorite was not at all what it seemed, and somewhere in the house there are two ... tentacles: green and purple. And now, just recently, crazy Fred kidnapped the pretty girlfriend of our hero (Dave), Sandy ...
All Dave's friends are ready to help him save the girl, but only two can be taken with him on this dangerous journey. The friends are different, someone knows how to repair phones, someone knows physics, someone is a surfer ... In general, your path to victory and nine endings depend on the choice at the beginning of the game. By the way, on the road you can completely die. There is only one save slot in the game and there is an opportunity to get stuck if one of Dave's friends dies, having an important item behind his bosom.
The first adventure of LucasFilm Games (based on the television series of the same name) was made on the innovative SCUMM engine (Script Creation Utility for Maniac Mansion), the basis of all future creations of this company. For the first time you can give out commands with the mouse (!) Using the menu (among as many as 15 commands to choose from, unfortunately, there is no “talk”, the characters chat themselves when they like), scroll the screen and act with three characters at once. In addition, there are now trendy "video plugins."

The second part of Indy's computer adventures caused a flurry of enthusiastic reviews. Unlike its predecessor, it had a definite advantage: originality. But, in addition, several more: three different scenarios (the game branches out approximately in the middle, offering you to choose a fist, intellectual or team way to achieve the goal. In the latter, you will receive advice from a companion - Sofia.
The game has noticeably changed the interface, essentially remaining the same SCUMM. Graphics, of course - VGA 256 colors. A year later, the released CD version, in addition to voiced dialogue, had a new digital sound. FoA uses the smart iMUSE system, thanks to which music appeared when it is appropriate, helping to feel the tension or, conversely, to relax. The soundtrack, of course, included the theme of all the adventures of Indy (from "Raiders of the Lost Arc"), music by Michael Land (Michael Z. Land), Peter MacConnell (Peter McConnell) and a few other tunes by John Williams himself.
The plot of the adventures of our archaeologist can not do without the Nazis. So it is with Hitler’s agents that Indy this time will race to search for the lost relic - Atlantis. Where, as if, technology is hidden that can help the Nazis conquer the world. There are several arcade moments in the game that you can easily “slip through” or simply solve with the mouse - they are not at all complicated. There is a rating system that would just prefer you to do everything yourself. Including solved puzzles in the most inventive way out of several possible. In a word, the game, of course, is linear, but also very diverse - there is a reason to return and do something different.

The initiator of the famous Koktelev series, which gave rise to a unique style of "game from CV". The unusual gameplay, which is an amazing mix of a puzzle (in the broadest sense) and the classic point'n'click adventure, attracted the attention of many gamers to a company that had previously been engaged primarily in licensed games and educational projects. In addition, “Goblins” was the first Coktel game to receive considerable publicity outside Europe - for Sierra took over the publication of French products in America.
In this quest, we have to play for three gallant goblins (hardly corresponding to the entrenched fantasy image of these creatures), who went in search of a cure for the strange misfortune that defeated the King himself. Turning to the local wizard for help and agreeing to collect the ingredients for the preparation of the antidote, they still do not suspect that thereby exacerbated the situation ...
As already mentioned, there are three characters to play, each of which has its own abilities: one is good at boxing and climbing ropes, the other has learned the basics of magic, and the third can pick up objects (though only one item at a time) and use them for their intended purpose. In total, the game has a little over twenty levels, each of which is represented by one screen, on which a series of actions is to be performed. Manipulation of goblins gives a lot of pleasure: literally any click of yours is followed by an immediate reaction of the character, expressed in the form of a fun animated insert. True, while experimenting, we should remember the gradually fading strip of life of our heroes (at the bottom of the screen). There are no traditional saves in the game, but you can enter each level both gradually, solving puzzles, and using a seven-digit code.
