Issues related to installing / updating / running GP

: download

I can not install the Market, downloaded from the forum!

O1:If you have custom firmware and root privileges, install Market via adb:
adb remount
adb push vending.apk / system / app /
adb shell reboot

Then, for faithfulness, reboot.
This will work if there is an SDK installed on the BB. Vending.apk itself must first be thrown into the tools folder in the SDK.
P.S. On the stock firmware (not all devices), you need through the Root Explorer firstmount the folder / system / app to write.

O2:
  • Download the original, then the renamed file is renamed to Phonesky.apk, or Vending.apk, or com.android.vending.apk (depending on your device).
  • Via® Root Explorer (File Manager)put it in the system \ app folder with the replacement of an existing file (the system partition should be mounted as r \ w).
  • Change the “permissions \ permissions” of the new market to rw-r-r (644) (long file tap - Permissions \ Permissions - remove extra daws)
  • Clear cache \ GP data (Settings - Apps - All - Market (Google Play) - Clear cache \ data).
  • Be sure to reboot!

O3: Google Play - Technical Problems (Post # 24904843)

AT:Market has disappeared from the list of installed programs
ABOUT:
1. Install from the apk-file manually (link to the program topic is shown above)
2. If it does not help, reset the device.
3. If both of the above recipes did not help, return to the factory settings (it is recommended to backup all data, contacts, messages)

AT:How to prevent the market from self-renewing?
For all versions:Use® LuckyPatcher by ChelpuS, it has the ability to disable auto-update Google Play.

The following methods work on Market 2.x
O1:DeleteMarketUpdater.apk. Root privileges are required. If you cannot delete, you can freeze with® Titanium Backup
O2: (thankto userkirill0605)
So that the market does not update itself: go through the root explorer application: system-apk-marketUpdater (click and hold) - permissions - leave one tick in the upper left corner -read permission only for user(r-- / --- / ---) - OK.
If it has already been updated, then through the phone settings in the applications, we clear the cache and delete the update. Then everything is as above. It is also desirable to rename the file vending.apk to com.android.vending.apk

Instructions to prohibit updates fromDenis_red
Denis_red @ 10/17/2011, 16:24*
I made a downgrade of the market from 3 * to 2. * according to the instructions in the header:
Both options work (in any case, the root is required) (I tried it on two SGS):
1: "Remove MarketUpdater.apk." using root explorer or equivalent
2: "go through the root explorer application: system-apk-marketUpdater", enable r / w mode, "(press and hold) - permissions - leave one tick in the upper left corner - only read rights for the user (r-- / --- / ---) - OK."

If before the specified manipulations, the market had time to upgrade, then we go "Settings / Applications / Application Management /", we find a market there (depending on the firmware it will be in the section "Third-party" and / or "all" and do it in turn:
1. Forced to stop
2. Clear the cache
3. Deletion of data
4. Uninstall update

Then I caught the error "Old version of su"
It is solved like this:
go to "Settings / Applications / Application Management /" there we find "Superuser" / "Superuser" (depending on the firmware it will be in the section "Third-party" and / or "all" and do it in turn:
1. Forced to stop
2. Clear the cache
3. Deletion of data
4. Uninstall update

AT:I installed a custom firmware, but there is no market in it / I installed custom firmware and a market from the site, but it does not work. What to do?
ABOUT:It is necessary through the recovery to install GApps (applications necessary for the proper operation of Google services) for your version of Android. You can download it in the profile branch of your device or below in the header. The minimum set of applications for Google Play - GoogleServicesFramework.apk, Phonesky.apk, GoogleLoginService.apk, you can take them from the same gapps.

AT:New Market terribly slow, what to do?
ABOUT:For informationthankto userSpaun-rus
Option 1:Accelerating the market withSet DNS(in the PRO version of root, no rights are needed, it is also in the specified topic in the Download section)
It turned out that the problem with the slowness of the new versions of Google Market is that it uses the url of the form v11.lscache3.c.android.clients.google.com. The conversion of such addresses leads to such annoying delays up to 10 seconds (+/-).
The Set DNS application allows you to specify which DNS to use to speed up this process. My best result was the Market showed after choosing OpenDNS, although in the application you can choose Google and some others. For the program to work, you will need superuser rights. However, in the full version of the program, which costs 40 rubles in the Market, it is indicated that there the restriction on the root has been removed.

Option 2:manual editing of configuration files
Well, actually there is a file /system/etc/resolv.conf
There Linux stores the most priority DNS-ki.
Usually this file does not exist at all - DNS-ki are taken from the operator by the automatic machine.
If you create such a file and write text there
nameserver 8.8.4.4
nameserver 8.8.8.8
then your android will always use the specified dns server google and not your carrier.
To push this file there, you need to remount the / system partition into read-write mode (the command depends on your phone).
After that, upload the pre-generated file using the adb.exe program from the computer (push command), or execute a couple of commands from the Terminal Emulator on the mobile itself (available on the market):
echo "nameserver 8.8.4.4">/system/etc/resolv.conf
echo "nameserver 8.8.8.8">>/system/etc/resolv.conf
then put / system in read-only mode
and execute the reboot command to reboot
Of course, this is all only for custom firmware.

RTFM!

/ system is remounted in rw like this:
mount -o remount, rw -t [firmware file system] [storage device on this firmware] / system
similarly
mount -o remount, ro -t ....
example for Desire Z Stock 2.42
mount -o remount, rw -t ext3 / dev / block / mmcblk0p25 / system

AT:What to do if the Internet is there, and the Market either does not start, or does not download, or it looks like “somehow wrong”.

Errors immediately after logging in to Google Play

AT:Error "Unable to establish a reliable connection"
O1:It is necessary to check the date and time set in the system. The problem occurs due to the inconsistency of time on the device with the time of validity of Google certificates (the time has not yet come or has already expired). You must set the correct time zone, date and time.
O2:
This error often occurs due to the incorrect operation of the DNS servers of providers. To change the DNS server on the device, you can install® Set DNSand select GoogleDNS in the settings (in the PRO version of root, no rights are needed, it is also in the specified topic in the Download section). If you access the Internet via WI-FI, then in the settings of the router, specify 8.8.8.8 as the DNS server
O3:
Check file / etc / hosts, it should be only one line - 127.0.0.1 localhost. If there are more lines, delete all the rest, save and check the operation of the market. Root rights are required, you can do it using® Root Explorer.
O4:
Try to change the way to connect to the Internet wi-fi<->3G, and use other connection points. Quite often, this problem occurs due to network problems.
O5:
1. Perform a hard reset (general reset) of the smartphone. In this case, all data from it will be deleted, but it will be possible to connect a Google account;
2. Install the Add Account program to force an account to be added to the system, this can be done as follows:

- download the Add Account program from the link below;
- write the apk-file to the root of the memory card;
- open the standard browser and enter the following: content: //com.android.htmlfileprovider/sdcard/add_account.apk
- click on the link - the installation will start;

3. Run the Add Account program and enter your gmail address in the Account field;
4. Click Add Account;
5. Now when you try to synchronize with your Google account, an error will appear with the message that you have entered the password incorrectly. Simply click on the notification and enter the password, after which synchronization with your account will work.
Download program
O6:
(thankto userigrikmc)
1. download GApps (see spoiler ->useful files)
2. boot to Recovery (must be installed CWR)
3. Choose "install zip from sdcard" ->"chose zip from sdcad" file list->Select the downloaded file * .zip. confirm "Yes - install * update * .zip"
4. reboot system now
at the first boot, it will offer to add an account, the addition passes without problems.
ZY If some Google applications have already been installed and they suddenly stopped working, then you just need to reinstall them.

AT:How to deal with the error "unexpected stop of the com.android.vending process"?
ABOUT: (thankto userKsumax)
Finally found a solution to the problem with an unexpected stop of the com.android.vending process.
You will need root rights and root explorer.
We open root explorer, we provide the superuser rights. Next, go to data / data / com.android.vending. Completely delete this folder.
Next, go to data / dalvik-cash. Click "SEARCH" and enter the word "Vending". Root Explorer finds us the desired file and we safely delete it.
Next, through the same Root Explorer, we drop the required vending.apk into the system / app folder by clicking the "R / W" button in the upper right corner.
We make a long tap on vending.apk and select permissions.
A menu opens where you need to put a daw. The order of exposure is as follows:
V V -
V - -
V - -
Then we close the Root Explorer and reboot our smart. Woo-ala, the Market works again.

If your device fails to start downloading the file from Google Play, follow these steps:

  • The device must be connected to a wireless or cellular network. Do not use USB and other wired connections. If there is no connection, contact your service provider.
  • Try downloading using both wireless and cellular connections. Check if the firewall is blocking access to TCP and UDP ports 5228, which are necessary for Google Play.
  • The device must have at least 20 megabytes of free space to install the application. If necessary, try to remove or transfer some of the installed applications to the SD card.

O2: (thank youuserAzat-777)
Found a new way to deal with the errorUnable to download / update application "Application Name" due to an error (492)
From the cap, none of the tips even helped me close: (
This is how I solved the problem. For starters, I made a log of the error, I found it and google it.
Mistake:
destination file: java.io.FileNotFoundException: /cache/downloadfile.apk (Permission denied)

This means that there is no access to the cache section, which is why the application cannot download / upgrade from the Market.

Solution: Download and install the terminal emulator (requires root privileges).
In the emulator type the following:
su
ls -la / cache
Look, will give something like this:
drwxrwx --- 1 1000 2001 2048 Jul 8 11:39.
drwxr-xr-x 14 0 0 0 Jul 8 11:39 ..
drwxrwx - x 1 1000 1000 2048 Jul 7 13:12 dalvik-cache
lrwxrwxrwx 1 0 0 23 Jul 8 11:39 download ->/ sdcard / dow nload-market
drwxrwx --- 1 0 0 2048 Jul 7 13:12 lost + found

Type chmod 777 / cache -R
Checking ls -la / cache

There must be something like this:
drwxrwxrwx 1 1000 2001 2048 Jul 8 11:39.
drwxr-xr-x 14 0 0 0 Jul 8 11:39 ..
drwxrwxrwx 1 1000 1000 2048 Jul 7 13:12 dalvik-cache
lrwxrwxrwx 1 0 0 23 Jul 8 11:39 download ->/ sdcard / download market
drwxrwxrwx 1 0 0 2048 Jul 7 13:12 lost + found

As you can see, the rights have fully recovered and it downloads from Market: happy:

O3:Another solution from the userSpectrall
He conducted a series of experiments on his tablet. I share information.

When installing the application from Market in the foldercache file appears downloadfile.apk .

It was previously assumed thaterror 492 This may occur due to the lack of rights to change / delete this file, or to write to other folders inside cache (I have located there lost + found with rwxrwx rights --- and recovery with rwxrwxrwx).

Believing the author's wordthis postI created in mycache missing folders dalvik-cache and download , and also threw into it the left file with the name downloadfile.apk. Got the following tree:

/ cache /
-dalvik-cache /
-download /
-lost + found /
-recovery /
-downloadfile.apk

Then all the objects insidecache took the right (put ---------).

Then I was very surprised, because after launching the Market filedownloadfile.apkand foldersdalvik-cacheanddownloadjust disappeared, although the restlost + foundandrecoverythe rights (more precisely, their absence) have not changed. I repeated the experiment with the already launched Market, just before clicking the "Accept and load" button - the result turned out to be the same.

I tried to create other objects, place large files - to no avail, the Market and killed them silently and without thinking. Naturally, applications were downloaded, installed, updated. In addition, after restarting the device, two folders not touched by the Market (lost + foundandrecovery) as if they were created anew: they returned the original rights. Naturally, the reboot also deleted fromcache all the garbage that I put there, absolutely not straining about the imposed restrictions.

The only way to make the Market capitulate and issueerror 492 , was the removal of write permissions from the folder itself cache (I put r - r - r-- on it).

I think no further explanation is necessary.

I can only add that I have no idea how other devices and firmware will behave in such conditions.

O4:And another solution from the usertypa.blade
Here is another way to solve error 492. There is a possibility (as I had) that journaling with ext4 file system is not properly disabled. I fixed it this way: I reinstalled this file system, and when I turned off logging I left it in cwm / unmout-system. And this error has disappeared.

on the first two points - wait or try another way to access the Internet (3g<->wi-fi, different points). at last - try clearing the google play cache, if you know how to make a wipe cache from recovery, do it. So, I just waited for the data transfer to complete (the arrows went out) and voila - the error disappeared. With what it is connected, I don’t know, but I can assume that the data transmission channel is clogged up and there is no way to download, the market simply does not allow (or something is downloading / updating).

If the Market suddenly does not work (download error - it writes, for example, "could not load", "such a program", "because of an error") or Google Talk cannot login (authorization error), then you need to go to Settings-Applications-Application Management find the Samsung Account and click Delete Data. Reboot the phone. After that, Talk began to log in perfectly and applications started to download in the Market. I checked for Samsung Galaxy S - there are probably similar settings on other devices.

AT:Problem: "Unable to download. Not enough space on device", although there is enough free space
O1:(thankvedroidoff)
Android (well, or Market) believes that if there is 10% of free space left, then there is no place anymore.
On the LG P500 it was 20 MB (there is a section / data 200 MB), on the M-ke it is as much as 205 MB with / data 2.05 GB.

The solution was not found by me, and described somewhere on the forum dedicated to the problems of Google Play.
A new parameter must be added to the settings database.sys_storage_threshold_max_byteswith a value of "0".
This is the threshold for free space in bytes.

You must have root and application installedTerminal
In it, enter:
su
settings put secure sys_storage_threshold_max_bytes 0
settings put global sys_storage_threshold_max_bytes 0

O2:(thankBespectacled)
I manage to update in two ways:
1. Just download the application again
2. Close and open the market, then update.
If this does not help, I transfer extra thick applications to the card.

O3:
Lares @ 07/16/2011, 03:38*
Most likely the market was not automatically updatedand manuallyreplacing apk taken from topicMarket. To fix the problem, roll back to the native version of the market.
Today, for a long time I fought with this error, although the size of the program in March is 30 MB, and the gig is free. Not yet rolled back the marketand it worked. I re-checked several times, the problem is in the manual replacement of the market. Often I encounter a similar problem with people in themes with games, I believe that this is the whole point.

O4:Use the Cache Fixer program to clear / increase (transfer) the cache to the sd card (the cache is transferred until the next reboot of the device, after reloading the cache will again be in the phone’s memory).Attached filetk.rede.cacheFixer-1.apk(136.6 KB)

It happens that applications are configured to automatically install on a memory card, and this is prohibited or not possible on phones with 2 or more GB of memory. Then they swear at the lack of memory, it is impossible to install them not only from the market, but also from this, for example, site. You can fix it, but if you do not have mcTweaker'a, then you will have bad things. Elimination through tweaker:
Through the "Memory" section in mcTweaker, you should set the value "only to internal memory" (the phone reads the memory card as internal) or "Auto".

O6:(thankrazor214n)
If you encounter a problem when you decide to install the application from the market or simply by running the APK ->"Not enough free memory". Do not rush to remove all software. Maybe it's not in the memory. This problem may occur due to the application being blocked by any program.
This problem may appear after using Luckypatcher.

To solve this problem, you need to open Luckypatcher to tap on the application with which the problems and select "Commit changes ->Remove commit (to update the application) ".

If the application has long been removed and you want to install it with a new one ->Your device must be made root. Next, install some sort of root explorer

Go to the folder where the * .apk file of the remote application (the default is / data / app /) was previously located and look for a file with the name of this application and with the odex extension, deleting it, the problem will be solved! You can install the application again, but now there will be no error!)

O7:manual cache transfer method (thankto usercert_x )
The problem is most likely in the small size of the cache for the market.

Download Terminal Emulator, enter the following commands:
log in as root user
su

create a folder under the cache
mkdir / mnt / sdcard / mcache

move to the folder with the current cache
cd / cache

backup current cache
mv download download.bak

AT:How to bypass the restriction "Device not supported"?

AT:How to clear the Not Installed list in the Market?
ABOUT: (thank youuserromansib)

A small article on the solution of a not critical but unpleasant problem - the presence in the list of applications ("My Applications") of the "Not Installed" subsection with a list of such applications.
I had it "Twitter", successfully cut out of the pre-installed and Ghost Commander, which was set by me to "look at."

In principle, after some time spent on solving this “problem”, I was already resigned, but yesterday I came acrossthis guide (forum.xda-developers).
So, having made a full backup beforehand, I decided to repeat this experiment.

I must say that the procedure was successful, but not in the way written on the XDA.

The phone must be rutovan!

I describe what I did:
1. Using the file manager (es explorer), went to / data / data and deleted the folders
com.android.vending
and
com.google.android.gsf
2. Through standard application management, stopped the Google Play Store and Google ServicesFramework processes. (Immediately, messages about the emergency closures of other services of my Google Phone came down).

(Clauses 4 and 5 of the XDA Guide did not fulfill, because the condition from clause 4 was not met, i.e. apk was not in the data / app)

3. I rebooted the device, went to the market, my applications - there are applications, but not all. I used the toolMarket Fixer
and everything fell into place. In the list of installed - all installed, there is no "not installed" list.

Hope this message is helpful.

SavingPailand maybe a few dozen more afflicted :).
I fought with the market for two days - it does not swing and that's it. All ports on the firewall are open, the market cache has been cleaned, updates have been taken down, hard reset is done - all by. A casket just opened. Synchronization with gmail has been disabled. I don’t need a google post on a smartphone, because I receive it and process it with a mail client on a PC, and when I set up a Google account, I’ve cut it with mail almost on the machine. I decided to check and tick the synchronization and, oh, a miracle, the market came to life. Of course, I can say banal things and everyone understands that without this tick the market does not work, but for me it was a revelation. Prior to that, did not see any mention of such subtlety.
And so, at the moment, in order for the market to work properly and please you with new applications, you need to:

  • enable synchronization with all Google services (address book, mail, calendar)
  • availability of a working gtalk
  • listing to the list of exceptions of various types of taskkillers of all possible Google applications
  • on the firewall (if there is one on the network from where you go to the Internet via WiFi), open ports for outgoing connections (which ones you didn’t watch, just opened everything)
  • if all this did not help - go to Application Management, stop the market process, clear the cache, delete the updates, go to the market again.
  • everything else, I think, is very special cases, which with a high degree of probability are solved by a banal hard reset. And here it is up to you to decide that it is easier to reconfigure the phone or to brain yourself about why the market does not work.

If, after deleting a market update, it doesn’t update for some reason and you’re tired of waiting, you can install the update manually. Download the attached apk file and install via ASTRO. Now you have a market version of 2007.

Personally, it helps me deal with not starting downloads:
1. Go to Settings application management - Market
2. Stop forcibly. Clear data. Clear the cache.
3. Restart Market and try to download again.

Not always, but it helps.

In one form or another, everything was already described, but it seemed they could not have mentioned it about stopping the application before cleaning.

And if the reset does not help? :-( ...
Now, if the power plant does not work, what do you think, what actions will help you to get the light in your apartment:
- switch distort
- change the light bulb
- replace all wiring in the apartment
???
That's right - none of them will help, since the whole city is de-energized.

In general, the problem is this: the market does not load when connected to the Internet via wi-fi, although all other applications using the Internet work fine. However, the search in the market works and you can even go to the application page through it, but neither the main page nor the download page are willing to load. Has anyone come across this?
P.S. And yet, through the 3G, the market still works, but I would like to still use wi-fi

In the market, the programs are not loaded, I press the line, then I write: I could not load

The market does not load when connected to the Internet via wi-fi, although all other applications using the Internet work fine. However, the search in the market works and through it you can even go to the application page, but neither the main page nor the download page want to load

Apparently this is a glitch of the site due to a large load ... Today, having reached the normal Internet, I began to pump out what was planned and only on the Market for a long time and hard ... I had to suffer - applications load through one and with huge brakes .. . :( One had to download probably 20 times. Downloading starts, 3-4% load, and everything ... It gives a loading error ... At the end I spat, left to do things ... Somewhere in a couple of hours I tried, and op ! It was downloaded the moment from the first attempt ...
So, apparently everything depends on the load on the Market (on the site) ... If you can’t download to the forehead, then pause for a couple of hours and try again ... Maybe you should try, if you can, download something at night when the load is minimal ...

Now you will probably laugh ... But I will share my method of "fighting" with the Market.
The fact is that I periodically say in the DOWNLOADS section "No downloads from the Android Market".
I go to the Market ->"Programs" ->"Top free" and choose which one higher than the installed ones. For example, Compass. The market says in the title of the program - INSTALLED. But in the downloads, as I said, emptiness.
I delete this Compass and immediately download it back. I wait until the end of the installation and go into the DOWNLOAD ...
Voila, all programs downloaded from the Market are again in the list and, if they exist, they offer to download updates to themselves.
The operation is repeated every 2-3 days.

thought thoughtful, but did not help .. :(
I tried to remove a couple of applications, both were stuck with the "deleted ..." state and I could not even reinstall them. I could only after restarting the market ... and it did not solve the problem ... the downloads never work ...

Places that on the flash drive (5 gig free) that on the phone (80 meters) Stupidly shakes and writes the installation is not successful ... what to do? Posted Today, 00: 40: And by the way, some programs or games put normal but very little ...

3 days a similar problem! Some applications after downloading can not be updated. A triangle with an exclamation mark - "Update Error" flies. Installing other applications from scratch is fine. Today FBReader tried to update - the same garbage. So far this branch is the first where I found people with a similar problem. The cache was deleted, the update was deleted ... everything remains the same.

Nothing swings from the market at all ... "Loading is suspended" and that's it. What is over 3G, what is over Wi-Fi. What's wrong with him?

I have everything from the market shakes without problems. The problem with updating already installed programs. Could cheat one application. I transferred it to the phone from the card and it was installed normally, then returned it back to the card. I thought that I had found a panacea, but alas, some applications for such a "do not wilt". I will experiment further. I suspected that this only applies to updating the installed applications transferred to the SD card, but not yet 100%. And without the market, you can demolish and install the application simply from the downloaded file from the browser and there are no problems. These are the pies.
