Short description:
task Manager.

Description:
Clear and simple interface, thoughtful structure and powerful functionality. Everyone's favorite task scheduler returns - recognizable and updated!

PRINCIPLES ON WHICH BUILT THINGS
Here are the main principles behind Things.
1. Fix everything that comes to mind
Don't keep tasks in your head - write them down as soon as they come to mind. You can add tasks to Things from any other program: either through system expansion or via Siri.
2. Sort cases by context and projects.
For each ambitious goal, create a project, and then fill it with specific tasks that can be completed in one go. Additionally, projects and tasks can be grouped by area — for example, Work, Hobby, or Health. Browse all areas regularly and don’t throw them away.
3. Rationally plan time
Cases from the OS calendar and Things tasks are displayed in the program as a single list, so you can quickly create a schedule for the week and not miss anything. For cyclical tasks, it is easy to configure retry at the right time.
4. Cut unnecessary
In the morning, look in the Inbox folder, select the unsorted task for the day and send them to the Today section. Also in this section will automatically pull jobs that you have already put in today's schedule before. It's all! No more lists can be viewed. Easy to get to work.
5. Structure tasks so that it is easy for you to understand.
To further organize your tasks, mark them with your own tags. Put the tag "Work" for writing a quarterly report, or "Household Affairs" in order to give the jacket to dry cleaning or order a filler for the cat. You can create as many tags as you want, as well as search for the necessary ones and filter the lists by them.

THINGS YOU WILL LOVE THINGS FOR
1. Things does not interfere with work.
He has a clear, thoughtful, humane interface, where everything is in its place. No obsessive special effects or a menu of hundreds of items. Only you and your tasks.
2. Things is focused on your tasks.
In the list they look like short items that can be ticked. But it is only necessary to double-click any task with the mouse - and it will open on the screen with a blank white sheet, on which all the necessary information will fit, including notes, clarifications, step-by-step instructions, tags, terms and reminders.
3. It has a lot of pleasant things.
That there is only one Big Blue Button "+", which is so convenient to add new tasks and sections (and then drag them to any place in the open list). Or the ability to edit multiple tasks simultaneously. Or a date parser that supports queries in natural language and therefore understands you correctly when you type tomorrow, after three days, or on Tuesday.
4. This is one of the best-made applications for iOS.
Things supports all iOS system capabilities: Apple Watch app, Today screen widget, Add to Things extension, Handoff mode, Quick actions and notifications, as well as importing data from the Calendar and Reminders apps .
5. Own option.
If you interview twenty people, then each list of the most useful and successful things in Things will have its own. Therefore, we publish user reviews on our website: thingsapp.com

Things version 3.7 is our big release for iOS 12 and watchOS 5. The main innovations of this version are fast commands for Siri, dynamic notifications, auto-complete passwords and support for landscape orientation on the iPhone.
FAST SIRI TEAMS
Anyone who is using iOS 12 will be able to use a new feature - quick commands from Siri. Siri will analyze the most frequent actions that you perform in Things, and will offer you in the form of quick commands on the lock screen - for example, “Show the Today section” or “Add a task”.
In addition, you can create your own quick actions (this is done in the settings of Things), as well as attach voice commands to them. Here are some scenarios in which the new feature will be especially useful:
• More advanced “Fast Entry”
Create quick teams for different categories of tasks - for example, household chores or movies that you plan to watch. Each time you call a command (to do this, just say “Hi Siri, add a movie to watch”), the Things window will open with a newly created task. It will fill all the necessary fields - tags, a list to which it refers, etc. You will only need to type the name of the movie and click "Save".
• Tasks of predefined formats
Create quick commands to add lists that are repeated unchanged - such as cooking recipes or lists of things on the road. Such quick commands will add tasks to Things in the background.
• Go to the desired list
It is also easy to create and quick teams to go to a specific section - “Today”, “Plans”, the current working draft or any other task list. You can also specify a tag by which the opened list will be filtered.
All commands can be used in the new Apple system application "Quick Commands", making up a complex chain of actions, including all possible applications.
DYNAMIC NOTIFICATIONS
Incoming notifications can be delayed until later. Tap “Postpone” and set how soon the notification will re-emerge: after 10 minutes, half an hour or an hour.
AUTO FILLING PASSWORDS
Things supports new iOS 12 feature - auto-complete passwords. The inspector will create a strong password and save it in the “Keychain”, and then automatically authorize you when you need to log in to an account on another device. This feature works with Things Cloud.
ALBUM ORIENTATION
Things finally learned to support landscape orientation on the iPhone :)

3.6 May 28, 2018
This update accompanies the release of version 3.6 for the iPad, in which the convenience of a mobile application is combined with powerful functionality that is not inferior to the capabilities of the “big brother” version for the Mac. Among the new features of the iPad version are full application management from a connected external keyboard, the ability to drag and drop tasks into the side menu, search and navigation using Type Travel and much more.
However, the iPhone version also did not stand aside. Here is what we added:
• Ability to tag multiple tasks at the same time (to do this, select a group and tap •••).
• Choose a deadline for a group of tasks.
• Simultaneous duplication of multiple tasks.

3.5 Apr 18 2018
We received a lot of fantastic feedback - thank you so much! For today’s release, we’ve seen it. This is a “Spit and Polish” release that combines 29.
AREAS - Now Collapsable!
Without a doubt, collapsable areas have been one of our most requested features. If you are a project, you need to do it.
TAGGING
ВЂ’ We’ve made it searchable on iOS. Sweet! Just pull down and start typing.
• We’ve made app-wide tag searches broader. If you’re searching for a tag, you’lln’t find it.
• A feature from Things 2 has been made a comeback: you can once again filter by “No Tag”.
INPUT / OUTPUT - Copy & Paste Magic
• Paste the text to create a new one.
• Paste multiple lines of text into a title field of a to-do; the first line is the title.
• New to Mac: Copy to-dos, headings, or projects and paste them into other apps.
• New to Mac: Copy to-dos, projects, or headings and paste them to other lists within Things.
• New on Mac: Drag and drop files from the Finder, people from Contacts, emails from Mail, etc.).
• Cmd + C and then using the “Move Here” shortcut: Cmd + Option + V.
On the bottom of the menu, you’ll find it on the bottom right corner.
THINGS URLs - Update Existing Items
We’ve been extremely pleased with the URLs of the URLs from outside the app. I’ve made it so that I’ve got it. This is now possible, thanks to our new UPDATE commands. See our website for more info.
TODAY WIDGET
The Today Widget now shows:
• Inline icons for checklists & reminders.
• moon for items in this evening.
• Progress pies for projects.
PERFORMANCE
• Some people have projects with thousands of to-dos. Whoa! Those projects should load faster now.
• We’ve sped up the generation of new repeating to-do instances.
LINKS
Links are now consistently detected everywhere: titles, notes, and checklists.
SETTINGS
• Redesigned settings for iOS for more clarity.
• A new setting on iOS: Today>Group by List.
• Options in the MacBook Pro Touch Bar now can be customized.
DATE HANDLING
• Full completion dates are now displayed in the Logbook.
• Improved how multi-day events are displayed.
ZAPIER INTEGRATION
We’ve been working with the Mail to Things feature. They’ve now published business tools such as Slack, Trello, Basecamp, and more.
AND MORE ...
• Headings in projects can now be duplicated.
• Improved layout when in full-screen mode on Mac.
• Fixed a bug that couldn’t affect the system alert volume.
• Fixed a crash when duplicating items that were new in Today.
• Fixed two other crashes.

3.4.1 Mar 6 2018

3.4 Feb 21 2018
In Things 3.4, we added three useful new features: creating links to Things, advanced automation, and support for exchanging data with other applications. All this is made possible by the new scheme of URLs Things.
• LINKS TO THINGS
Things has learned to maintain a special type of link (in other words, URLs) starting with things :. Using such links, the user can quickly open a specific task or list in Things from any other application. To create a link to the desired task list in Things on your iPhone or iPad, open it, tap the (v) icon in the top right corner and select Share.>"Copy link." To create a link to an individual task, tap it, and then tap •••>Share>"Copy link."
• ADVANCED AUTOMATION
Also, a new type of links can be used to send commands from third-party applications to Things - for example, to create tasks, display tags, start a search, etc. Thanks to integration with Workflow, Launcher, Launch Center Pro and other applications, you will have a lot of additional opportunities to automate repetitive processes.
• SHARING DATA WITH OTHER APPLICATIONS
Now various applications can easily exchange data with Things. For example, you can open the MindNode mind mapping application, write all the ideas for a new business project into it, and then, when it is time to put them into practice, send it to Things as a list of specific tasks. If you are writing iOS apps and want to export data from them to Things, our Swift open source library is at your service.

In this release, a search is also added without accepting accents (for example, a search for the word “all” will also find “everything”, “uber” will also give out “über”, “francais” - “français”, etc.).
3.3.2 Jan 25 2018

3.2.5 Nov 16 2017
Things 3.2 version is fully compatible with iOS 11 and watchOS 4. Also, there are two new functions in it: integration with Siri and recognition of links to third-party applications.
INTEGRATION WITH SIRI
The ability to quickly add tasks, browse lists and search for tags using Siri. (IOS 11 is required for this feature to work.) Here are some examples of voice commands you can give to Siri:
• To create a task: “Add a task to Things”.
• To create a task with a specific text: “Add a task to buy milk in Things”.
• To create a reminder: “Open Things and create a reminder - book a table tomorrow morning at 9 am”.
• To view the task list for today: “Show my Today's list in Things”.
• To find tasks labeled with the desired tag: “Show my list of“ Household Affairs ”in Things”.
• ... the list goes on.
LINKS TO THIRD PARTY APPLICATIONS
Now Things recognizes and correctly handles links to files that should be opened in other applications - for example, Ulysses, Evernote or Bear. If you click on such a link in Things (for example, ulysses: // x-callback-url / open? Id = imkX-yOF9WgAT5pNg0P7Pw), it will open in its “native” program.

• Improved handling of declined / canceled calendar events.

What's new in version 3.0.2
We rewrote Things for all platforms from scratch. Here's what's new in the iPhone version:
• UPDATED DESIGN
Menus, colors, buttons, overall impression - everything became clearer, clearer, more transparent. We have added workflow sequences, the structure of the task base - the discipline, and the details - the alignment.
• DIVISION OF PROJECTS IN SECTIONS
To make a complex project or process understandable, you need to turn it into a chain of concrete steps. Sections are a way to highlight key events, phases of work, categories, or any other structure elements in projects. Having created a section, just give it a name and drag all related tasks under it.
• CHECK SHEETS
It happens that a case involves several elements, but still “does not pull” on a whole project. For such tasks suitable checklists. They are useful when you need to collect a bag on a business trip, write a step-by-step cheat sheet for a complex work task, or make a list of Olivier.
• CATEGORIES OF TASKS "TODAY" AND "TODAY EVENING"
Your schedule for the day is placed in the "Today" section. At the top of the list are the events imported from the calendar. They are followed by the tasks of Things. And finally, completes the new category section called "Tonight." Send here everything you need to catch in the evening after work - for example, “Call in the mail”.
• WEEK SCHEDULE
Schedule for the current week will help the section "Plans". It contains a complete list of your affairs for the next seven days - tasks with a specific date, repetitive tasks for which the deadline is suitable, as well as calendar events and deadlines. Adjusting plans is very easy - just drag the task to the desired day.
• LARGE BLUE PLUS BUTTON
This button is a powerful weapon. Pull it to the open task list and release above the desired stage. The newly created task will automatically go to the selected location. Dragging the plus button to the upper left corner of the screen adds a new section to the project. And if you drag it to the bottom left corner, it will create a task in the Inbox.
• FAST SENDING TO “INCOMING”
You can send tasks to the Inbox from any section and project. Tap the plus button, drag to the bottom left corner and release above the Inbox icon that appears.
• ADDING TERM OF SWIPS
Quickly add to the task date helps pop-up window-calendar "When." To open it, swipe to the right for the desired task.
• TREATMENT OF REQUESTS IN NATURAL LANGUAGE
The date parser in Things can handle requests in human language. Therefore, he will understand you when you start typing "manager (tra)," w (ornik), "1N (october)" or "after tr (and days), and automatically substitute the correct date for the task.
• REMINDERS
The situation “recorded in the organizer and forgot to look at it in time” happens to everyone. So now Things supports reminders triggered at a specified time. Reminder can be typed in plain text (you do not need to adhere to a specific format), and you can dictate Siri.
• NEW SIDE MENU
Projects in the sidebar are now grouped by area. Next to each project appeared indicator circle, showing the progress of its implementation.
• QUICK SEARCH
All you need to do to call a project, task or tag from any open list is to swipe from top to bottom and start typing its name.
• ADVANCED EDITION OF LISTS
Managing lists in the iOS version is not weaker than in the desktop application. To edit several tasks at the same time, swipe them to the left. After that, they can be assigned a deadline, moved higher or lower in the list, or transferred to another section.
• ...AND MUCH MORE

but you do not know whether it is possible to somehow note that the task is failed? well i all the time we tick off that we have completed the task. but after all there are tasks for which we were late, forgotten, etc. - but they still have to be ticked as if we had completed them. so you could see how much you could not

What is not very popular program.
I have the following question, I have a task, there is an opportunity in this program to make a reminder, what would have squeaked, etc. And then I scored the task in the program two weeks ago for today, the program was silent, and I did not successfully complete this task.

This program is also only a circle with the number of tasks posted. TryTodoorNotifyMe (Push Reminder). True, both require working GPRS for this.

Can you please tell whether it is possible to create meetings in it and add participants to them from the phone book without an email.

The good thing is that it is more convenient for Evernote, which I have not been able to get used to in six months. Yes, and it does not brake so much

I did not find a video review in Russian of this application. Although, they say that it is considered almost the best in its genre. And here there are only half a page of discussions ... Strange ...

How can I install it on iOS 10.3?
I tried to sign with a certificate and utility from this forum (Cydia Installer), but after launch it immediately crashes.

I have 3.3.1
It's time to update the version in the header.
And yes, although there is little discussion, but the program is just great!
And the creation of tasks / affairs and the widget are super straight.
I regret that I did not switch to it before.
In conjunction with the Timepage - simple and very convenient!

Installation or personal certificate, or through Cydia Impactor.
