Solving problems with the "iron" PC

Attached Image

Attention!

To help you, follow these guidelines:
  1. Describe in detail the fault
  2. What started the problem (replacement of components, drops in the network, etc.)
  3. What they did on their own to solve the problem
  4. Fully and fully describe the configuration of the computer (see spoiler below):
    What to report:
    • Motherboard model, revision, BIOS version
    • Model power supply or photo stickers from him, his age
    • Processor model
    • The model of RAM, if there are several strips - the model of each
    • Video card model, or link to it
    • Hard drive model \ s SSD
    • Presence / absence of overclocking of components
    • Operating system version

It is also useful to specify:
    • Hard disk SMART status (how to make)
    • Component temperatures under load
    • If the computer beeps, tell exactly which ones

Automatic collection of information about the system and hardware
    1. Download programSpeccy : Download Portable | What information will be collected?
    2. Run the programSpeccy .
    3. Wait for the program to collect data (3-10 seconds).
    4. PressFile - Post snapshot. Confirm the intention by clicking OK.
    5. The resulting link insert into your message. The program Speccy can close.
    6. Power Supply Information still need to get the method of parsing the PC. Programs do not know how to determine the model of the power supply.

  5. If a BSOD (Blue Screen) appears, you need to dump the memory.
What is it and where to get it:
    • The file with the extension * .DMP, lies in the folderC: \ Windows \ Minidump
    • If there are many files in a folder, then put some of the most recent
    • If there is no file, then check whether dumping is enabled in the system.
      1. Open the folder "This computer" or "My computer"and in the context menu select"Properties". A window will open."System"
      2. On the left side of the window "System" click on the link "Additional system parameters".
      3. In the window "System properties"tab"Additionally" in section "Boot and Restore"click on"Options".
      4. In the window "Boot and Restore"in block"Write debug information"select from the dropdown list"Small memory dump". (Step by step in pictures)
    • If the system does not boot, use any Live CD \ USB system, for exampleUbuntu, in order to pull the file out of the desired folder.
PS: If the computer starts up and works stably with the Live CD \ USB system - this most often means that the problem is software, not hardware (with hardware)

  6. If the problems started after the assembly, disassembly or cleaning of the computer, take high-quality photos of the insides of the PC from different angles. This is necessary in order to detect errors in the assembly and suggest how to fix them.
  7. If the problem is solved, thank the assistant, vote in the header.

Primary PC Failure Analysis
1. You have assembled a new PC, turned it on, but it does not show signs of life
  • Check whether the power supply is on
  • Check if the power is connected to the board (24 pin), processor (4 or 8 pin), video card (6 pin, 8 pin or a combination of them)
  • Check whether the power button is connected to the motherboard

2. You have assembled a new PC, turn it on, it turns on but shows nothing but a black screen, or, it turns on and off cyclically, the fans are twitching
  • Verify overall assembly accuracy and assembly compatibility
  • Check whether you have not forgotten to screw the rack under which it is screwed under the motherboard, if there are any extra oneslike these ones
  • Check the correct connection of the monitor (in the presence of a discrete video card, the monitor should connect to it, and not to the motherboard). An important point regarding the monitor
  • Check if the power supply cable of the processor is not confused with the video card's wire, since they are very similar in appearance.Connectors on the power supply
  • Check if the memory is firmly inserted.
  • Listen to what the bios speaker beeps. If nothing beeps, check without memory (a working motherboard with a working processor should be squeezed when properly connected to the power supply. Accordingly, the bios speaker must be connected to the board in accordance with the manual)

3. If everything at first glance is correct
  • You need to completely disassemble the PC and assemble it without a case on the table — to eliminate the short circuit to the case
  • Check for mechanical damage, especially near the mounting holes on the boards, near the connectors, memory slots. If the PC is assembled from the CU components - check the motherboard and power supply for the presence ofswollen capacitors
  • Check in the minimum configuration (only the processor, one memory bar and a video card, if there is no embedded video)
  • If the Intel processor - remove the processor and carefully inspect the processor socket on the board - whether there is a damaged leg (bent or broken)
  • If the AMD processor - check whether there are no broken or bent legs on the processor itself
  • Make sure the purchased hardware is compatible: see which BIOS version your board supports the installed processor, is the memory compatible, is the power supply healthy, is there enough power, is it good quality

If none of the above steps helped, you can continue the discussion in the topic by running other requirements

please tell me how to register on this overclockers because in points I can’t see the pictures until I register (the problem arose when answering the question, I just didn’t write - 0 reactions. I just swear that I am not giving the correct answers, I I don’t know what to write there. I didn’t find anything in the rules for an answer)

Please help with advice. for in a few days the technique had already patted my nerves one after another some whistles. First, the old hard drive in the crystal info showed alarm and there are supposedly reassigned sectors. but all the other programs for checking the hard drive show that everything is okay and not a single bad sector is there. Then, after a few days, the old monitor raped dead pixels. which are now dead and on the monitor as if a stain of paint. But that’s okay, the monitor was going to buy a replacement soon and so, and the hard drive is also not very valuable. But the fact that now appeared infuriates me. Namely. then I connect the smartphone to the PC in the front usb port in the charging only mode. I launch a game on a PC some sort of. And now you play, play, when suddenly after some time the keyboard stops working. That turns on, then turns off and so on ad infinitum. and the second wireless is working fine. But because of this reconnection all the time, all your devices start to behave inappropriately, as if they are slowing down and so on until you restart the PC or turn it off and on. What is it and where to dig? forces are no longer with this fucking technique. PC specifications in the screenshot. strange but it seems to me the temperature of the motherboard is too high

for now the first thing that comes to mind: scratch_one-s_head:
1. finger test the radiator, if it is very hot, it is advisable to replace the paste, check the pressure
2. update the driver (although not a fact that will help).

Rep: (335)
* Oven I, drivers are all new. The most interesting thing is that if the smartphone is not connected, then all the rules

* Obven i , xcilence performance. 530watt. On our forum I was advised to buy it. And all the rules were. And before I charged, I played a smartphone, but here it became so. Perhaps the problem is in the front usb ports. They are sloppy. Yusb smartphone wire enters and exits without any effort and delays as it should. Is it possible that because of this, the smartphone is constantly reconnected and because of this such system glitches?

No, hardly. : nea:
Or the duty room on the PSU is naughty, something, apparently, is planting a line or the problem is in the bridge of the motherboard. : scratch_one-s_head:

My question arose - there is a computer on Windows 10 that is dedicated as a set-top box to the TV, two whistles are plugged into USB ports, one for a wireless keyboard with a touchpad, the other for a wireless gamepad (Artplays AN-201, but defined by Windows as from the XBox 360 ) When the computer goes into sleep mode, both whistles continue to work, so that communication with wireless devices is not lost. But there is a difference - pressing any button on the wireless keyboard wakes up the computer, but for some reason the gamepad does not display the computer from standby mode, which button on it do not press: '- (
Well, actually the question itself is a hardware or software problem, and if software, then how to solve it so that the gamepad (again, which Windows takes for Microsoft) can wake up the computer? ;)

hardware or software problem, and if software

Look in the device’s remote control, in the properties of the controller, is there a menu item "Power Management", and its settings - is there a check mark "Allow this device to wake up the computer from standby
mode. "...

is there a menu item "Power Management"

Alas, the joystick does not have a power tab :(

Here, of course, we would have to put up with it, but bearing in mind that this is Windows, I do not leave hope to find a crutch: D

Good morning, I ask for help, I have a computer mother ga-970a-gs3p ver.2.1, power supply at 750 watts. And there was a gt 630 card. Everything worked perfectly. I took it xfx r9 380 connected it by all the rules, but when it turns on the PC it doesn’t react and doesn’t give out any image or even the calera do not spin, and the system starts normally, tell me what could be the reason.

* shersh-osa , put another video card in the computer and it gave a picture to the campaign my card got burned but with a new vidyuha I measured the voltage on the power supply there stable 12v line no longer sags I also measured the resistance on the terminals of the additional power supply there more than 400 ohm the power supply almost on kz worked at the maximum of its capabilities and therefore the voltage was very sagging

two whistles are stuck in USB ports

From the post, the whistle for the RF or BT gamepad is not clear? Is there a built-in BT on the dedicated computer? If there is, try to pull out the second whistle and switch to BT. In the BT stack, a larger number of protocols are supported - maybe the computer will wake up from the gamepad.

No, no ... the comp is old, desktop: rolleyes:

whistle for RF or BT gamepad?

I don’t know what RF is, but the whistle is not BT, because for bluetooth the gamepad turns on with another combination of buttons (for use with Android and iOS)

That bought a dead video card?

Rep: (10)
Clear. Then most likely you have RF. If possible - try to replace the RF with a BT whistle and connect with BT.
SeregaVSV @ 03/12/19, 11:22*
I don’t know what RF is,

RF (R adio F requence - radio frequency 2.4GHz. In a first approximation, we can consider the USB-COM radio. Just the lace to COM is replaced by a radio link).

RF (RadioFrequence - Radio Frequency 2.4GHz

Clear. But the keyboard whistle is also not bluetooth, but it worked to wake up even before installing the Logitech proprietary program.

I'll try later with a laptop, but the practical sense is not enough ... if you buy, then a gamepad with a small keyboard, and not a dubious BT-whistle.

Suppose, but as I boom that at least the cooler should be spinning.
