The new device from Motorola on the basis of the second android is already in full swing for sale in America and Europe. On the Russian market, this phone should arrive early next year, but I think many who do not want to wait for several months will buy an American or European version of the device. I already managed to acquire a German motorola, so I decided to open a topic for discussion of the "animal."
You can get acquainted with the main characteristics of the device on the manufacturer's website:
linkThe network has enough, both Russian and English-language reviews. On YouTube there are a large number of video reviews.
From personal impressions I want to emphasize the following (I will highlight only the most important)
pros + Well, a very high quality performance of everything (except for one small “but” - see below), to the smallest detail:
- The phone is perfectly in the hand
- It has a decent weight, so it is pleasantly "felt" (at the same time, the weight is not excessive)
- All materials on top
- The slider is absolutely no backlash (neither in the open nor in the closed state)
- The screen is impressive in size, clarity and saturation (the sun is not exposed)
- The hardware keyboard is very comfortable - I want to press it again and again.
+ The phone is smart: even "loaded" with applications does not slow down at all
+ The remaining advantages relate, rather, to the operating system, so I will not discuss them.
Minuses - Now I use the phone very intensively, but it’s immediately obvious that there will be problems with the battery. Now the phone lasts a day (not even a day). Although, I spent only a few charges, let's see what happens next. Maybe a little "swing."
- A small lack of performance, which I wrote at the very beginning (it may concern my device): the battery cover is made of metal, apparently, it is slightly bent - one corner has a stroke (when you press it on top) about 0.5 mm. Absolutely not annoying (does not crack and does not creak), but it is worth noting.
- Very weak (in comparison with modern Samsung, Nokia, etc.) camera. For me personally, this is not a disadvantage, but there are people whom it will scare away from the phone.
- Pressing the hardware buttons under the screen should respond with vibration. This vibration feels good, then bad, it does not work at all.
- Automatically adjusting the brightness of the screen depending on the lighting does not work well - the screen brightens or darkens from time to time without changing the lighting conditions (maybe I didn’t understand something?).
- The remaining disadvantages, again, are connected with the operating system, so I will not affect them either.
As for the rest (actually, what can be discussed here):
1. Since the phone is European, there is, of course, no Russian language in it. I tried to put some kind of Russian keyboard, it works, both software and hardware, but on a hardware one, not all letters correspond to the places where they should be. It is necessary either to wait for some kind of utility for remapping the keyboard (or something like that), or when the keyboard is “pulled out” of the Russian-language device (it will take a long time, of course, to wait). Therefore, with interest I will hear opinions on this matter.
2. I would like to find any multimedia player. Out of the box, the phone does not play almost any formats.
For the rest, by and large, there is nothing to say - if you have something to ask, or say, welcome to the topic.
P.S. I almost forgot to say, I have been testing the phone since Saturday (five days), during this time the system fell once - the phone just silently rebooted. After the reboot, the battery charge indicator changed - jumped from about a quarter to half. After that, the phone was discharged as if the charge was exactly half. It should be noted that I’m really using the phone to the fullest - I put a lot of software, I use the Internet, and so on. Apparently I just couldn’t withstand such “audacity”.
