Description:
In addition to standard making calls, additional functions are supported:
  • Caller ID for numbers that are not in the address book (data is taken from Google+);
  • Search for phone organizations located nearby;
  • Lock rooms;
  • Spam protection (you can add numbers to the database of spammers Google);
  • Intellectual search (T9) on the dial pad with Cyrillic support;
  • Video call google duo;
  • Display location in an emergency.

Installation
Normal installation:
Current versions are installed as regular APKs.
If your device initially did not have Google Phone as a stock call program or you install a clone assembly (which will be indicated in the mod description), then Google Phone is put on the second ring in the system. In this case, you must select a new "Application for calls" in the settings.Here are the details with pictures.
Also some additional permissions are required to work. For example, for the operation of the "floating button" in the mods, you need the permission "On top of other applications".

Installing APK as a system application :
Root rights are required.
  1. Copy apk to / system / priv-app / GoogleDialer;
  2. Set permissions -rw-r-r-;
  3. Reboot the phone.

On younger versions of Android, it was possible to intervene differently, but on new ones, third-party interceptors are blocked (on Android 9.0 for sure).

These two are not suitable for the test. True Phone imposes itself directly on the stock dialer. Draws a new layer on top of the drain. This may work in the described situation. But this is technically a flawed solution. And it will not allow to draw conclusions about the correctness of the processing of the "phone by default". DW Contacts does not have its own inbound / outbound interface at all.
