The maximum that I received is noise when moving with a mouse or whistling / wheezing as when a microphone is excited.

The feedback loop is activated, self-excitation occurs when some input / output is activated. It is for this reason that you need to conjure there - activate only the necessary channels.

The kernel does not see the sdio backlight control pin even though you crack. Hence the problems with extinction.

Backlight blanking can be checked by ls / sys / class / backlight /
If you see intel_backlight then everything is fine, the backlight will be adjusted and extinguished. The Ubuntu build for Asus t100 is.

If acpi_video0 then alas and ah. So it was on new kernels with ubuntu kernel ppa.
It is possible from the fact that during installation, the kernels cursed the possible absence of some kind of Intel firmware:
W: Possible missing firmware /lib/firmware/i915/skl_dmc_ver1.bin for module i915
Checked on the Ubuntu build for Asus t100 and on the stock Ubuntu Gnome 15.10

The condition of the battery is determined, but with the stripes and sound (by hdmi and built-in sound) the problem remains.

set gfxmode = 800x600 is needed for reliablestart graphics. Without it, the system does not load at all - a black screen with light stripes. From the flickering of the display when exiting "sleep" (flickering itself decreases with time), set gfxmode will not help. Here the problem is in another.

On the built-in sound was higher:
The sound works, though here you first need to conjure in alsamixer (when you see the number of points, do not fall).

If it is more advanced, conjuring it is to remove the mute from some of the controls. What I do not remember exactly, there are a bunch of them there. For starters, you can remove everything.

Glitch with stripes remained.

On Pipo W2 set gfxmode = 800x600 helps for 100%

It is much more important to support the kernel power management (brightness control, sleep). Without this, everything else does not make sense, if only the tablet as a desktop to use with an external monitor and constant power from the outlet.
In the Ubuntu build for Asus T100 with xda, power management is implemented through crutches - it works, although everything else is crooked / oblique. But what else to expect from self-made assemblies.
According to rumors in the office. 4.3 power management for Bay Trail was done, but when I tested for 4.3rc7 it did not work. How are things in the release - no idea, the test system has already been demolished.

Source codes of cameras saw somewhere dangling in the network. Bluetooth under Linux in a reduced form is.

Core 4.1 is out

Corrected bugs regarding our tablet:
Fixed mmcblk0rpmb bug - read / write error (manifested in long loading of the tablet, and a long sheet of alarms)
Fixed a bug with random acceleration / deceleration of the timer (for example, a clock, a terminal cursor, system monitor graphics accelerated from time to time like crazy)

Wi-Fi driver rtl8723bs, while with the bug "RTWHALXT runs 100% CPU" we takehere(put intwo clickstwo terminal commands.)
Bluetoothibidbeside.

Does not work:
Adjust the backlight brightness.
Both cameras.
Orientation sensor
FM radio.

Touch is practically not working. Randomly in some applications there is the possibility of scrolling or pressing individual buttons, as well as randomly disappears.

With the backlight you need to understand. In the assembly for the Asus T100 with 4.0 patched core, both the adjustment and the correct damping of the backlight works.

Posted on 06/24/2015 16:37:

Checked gfxmode. It does not work for me.

Is the resolution exactly set to 800x600? Try another 640x480.

So gentlemen, it seems like we managed to beat the bright bands - I hope finally and irrevocably (:
It's all about the vertical orientation of the picture bios of our tablet. Now random Linux launches / non-launches have become clear. With the GRUB statr, he tries to set his own, as it seems to him the correct orientation of the screen, if it is strictly prescribed for him. If it is not registered, it takes the one that was loaded earlier - after running UEFI Shell, for example.

The solution is to report the correct display orientation for our tablet to GRUB.

For a bootable flash drive, edit / boot / grub/grub.cfg add or change the parameter to:
set gfxmode = 800x600

For the installed OS (Ubuntu) in / etc / default / grub add the parameter:
GRUB_GFXMODE = "800x600"

Next, perform:
sudo update-grub

Reboot, rejoice.
It works on both the Asus build and the default 15.04 Ubuntu boot flash drive with 3.19 kernel. It should work on Android and other Linux distributions. Check, unsubscribe.

It was possible to eventually install Ubuntu from the assembly for asus. I’ll tell you right away about warnings about the impossibility of unmounting / cdrom, nothing to do with the assembly - my joint was (:
Due to the inability to use the built-in Wi-Fi, installation using a passive hub, becomes a very nontrivial task.

When you start again, a jamb with a display appears, successfully the system rarely starts. By the way, the start is very fast - faster than Windows.
The touch falls off almost immediately after several touches, there is no support for the screen rotation sensor. Application Center for some reason does not start.

Cool, I was still in the beginning of February, I was laying out a relatively working assembly of the android, with working normally video and Wi-Fi,

What kind of assembly do you mean -this? So it was discussed here for a long time.
And the meaning of its shove on third-party resources, when it is already on the off.site website of developers in free access.
Or did you change / improve something in it?

It is like a virtual CDROM - installation flash drive. If you unmount it, the entire system loaded from it will crash. There is just some kind of joint in this assembly. It is for Asus T100, everything can be normal there, but something is not suitable for our device.
While thinking, try to set the usual 15.04 Ubuntu with the parameter i915.modeset = 0, and thento updatekernel up to 4.0 via kernel-ppa.

Jgur @ 04/29/2015, 3:58 PM*
Does WiFi seem to work when I boot?

Do you have Wi-Fi on this build?

Looks like the ice is broken gentlemen.* pilottt, Thanks again for the link.

The build is made on the 4.0 kernel, sort of really finished our graph in this version of the kernel. Now there is no bug of light bands.
In Ubuntu, equipment picks up everything except Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and cameras.
The display brightness is adjusted and it is extinguished.

Bugs:
Ubuntu has a random touchscreen rollback.
When installing this assembly swears on unmounting / cdrom. As a result, the installation is stopped.

* Interestingyy,
You need to start not even from the hub, but from whether your Chuwi Vi8 has the same glitch as our device is a jamb with a display.
While on our tablet this problem from all distributives tried here is not solved, read the topic.
If it is not possible to try all the distros that colleagues have reported here, then alas ...

shl
Tried recently released candidate Ubuntu 15.04
Now even through HDMI graphics freezes. Another kind of garbage with a cursor when typing, then accelerated, then normal. Without a clue what it is - a system timer buggy? The clock too, then accelerated then no. Maybe the problem will be solved on the 4.0 kernel, there was info about the improvements in this version of intel graphics.

Can you link to the post?

In the main branch of Voyo, all the last pages discuss the new BIOS for VoyoF with dualBut, and the android going with it.
As far as I understand, the new BIOS is needed only so that the keyboard does not connect to select the OS. But the android itself probably with a brightness adjustment should be. For if this is not so, then there is no sense in such an android.

There are two nuances

Clear. I thought that the rationale for running 32-bit Linux distributions on a subject was confirmed by practice, and these are theoretical calculations ...

But anyway, to complete the work of the tablet with Linux, the kernel must be collected from source codes.

Here, at least, get together, not yet for the subject of the main thing - support for adjusting the brightness of the display and its damping. Although the main topic recently cited a link to the version with dualbut in android - maybe the problem will be solved.
And as a desktop, with an external monitor, it works out of the box right now.

Made a minifak to create a bootable flash drive, so as not to multiply the same type of questions.

Download the Linux image with UEFI support. Usually these are 64 bit versions containing the / EFI / BOOT directory.
Download the bootia32.efi file from the link:http: //www.jfwhome.com...transformer-book-t100/
Create a bootable Live CD USB flash drive in any way you know about - Rufus will do.
We copy on it in / EFI / BOOT downloaded bootia32.efi.
Change if you need in /boot/grub/grub.cfg kernel boot options.
Reboot to BIOS. There disable Fast boot.
We save.
At the time of the reboot clickF7 (choice of bootable media), choose a USB flash drive.

Download option without USB hub (not tested, does not work with USB SD card readers).
In /boot/grub/grub.cfg we add the option "set timeout =", this will automatically load the selected item after a specified number of seconds.
Appends it below the set options like this:
set menu_color_highlight = black / light-gray
set timeout = 5

Pre-select the boot from external media in the BIOS, or do a reboot with the choice of media from the Windows service menu (reboot with Shift pressed).

Taks, it seems it turned out to achieve full repeatability of the start of graphics.
You need very littleconjure and dance with a tambourinefix grub.cfg, and have a hdmi monitor on hand.

Ubuntu 15.04 Daily Build vivid-desktop-amd64.iso from 13-Mar-2015 with kernel 3.19.0.9

To begin, remove grub.cfg from the quiet and splash download lines. (I did this because the image of March 6 hung up when the graphics were started).
Next, boot. Sometimes even the graphics start right away - but more often not.
If the schedule does not start (wait a few minutes) - connect hdmi. On the monitor of the graph, it will start 100%.
Turning off hdmi - voila, the graphics will start on the tablet itself.

Now for the work itself.
The sound works, though here you first need to conjure in alsamixer (when you see the number of points, do not fall).
There are hard volume and home buttons.
The SSD and the internal SD card are normally detected.
The touchscreen works, sometimes it is chopped off randomly. Or almost always when the screen turns off.
Capacity and battery percentages are shown.

From imperfections.
The brightness is not adjustable, the screen is not extinguished.
Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and FM radio (yes, we have FM radio) are not detected.
Touching is difficult to resize windows.
At the connected hardware keyboard (mine at least) blows the roof from time to time - the characters stick and accelerate like a rocket.

Work as a desktop.
If you connect a hdmi monitor, keyboard, mouse, and Wi-Fi dongle tested in Linux, you can use it (with some settings above) even now.

Posted on 03/14/2015, 21:20:

Please give the most working version of Linux on this unit, so that the touch, wifi, and so that it does not hang.

And here and discuss the most workers.

It may be associated with the definition of the display, but it is not explained because of the video card driver.

About that, and the speech, the same driver on the external monitor image normally displays.

And the fact that the light stripes remain after a reboot is evidence that the video card buffer is not working properly.

Maybe. But the light stripes remain even if the tablet was turned off, and lay there for some time. Then the buffer memory must be either non-volatile, or the power from it is not reset when it is turned off - which is unlikely, or what capacity the buffer holds. Here for the purity of the experiment it is necessary to fold the battery.

* akral Maybe. But how then to explain that the problem manifests itself only when outputting to the built-in display? By the way, randomly - it is loaded, then no, judging by the posts above.
With the conclusion on the external, no problem. From the tried and tested distros, all are loaded without registering crutches, in the form of add. kernel options.

upd
I tried to download Ubuntu 15.04 NB without connecting an external monitor - by default, without add. kernel options. As a result, when loading, there will be light stripes, the flash drive flashes, reading the info. If after some time you tinker with the mouse, the desktop appears.

ps
Imho problem of light bands is hardware, rather only indirectly related to linux. Perhaps because of the incorrect definition of the resolution / frame rate of the built-in display, it pereklinin. Light bands and flicker remain for some time even after rebooting into Windows.

I tried to run images with connection to an external monitor via HDMI. By default, without registering any additional. kernel parameters in general. One subtlety, the cable needs to be connected only after loading the GRUB menu, everything more hangs.
On the external monitor, the graph always starts.

Ubuntu 14.10 graphics downloads, but almost immediately hangs.
Ubuntu 15.04 NB downloads graphics without window decorations (or whatever it is correctly called), what can be started quickly, without brakes, as in Android.
Android-x86 4.4-r2 with no problems, though it loads with me and without an external monitor.

There is a suspicion that all problems with not loading, light strips, etc. associated with the uncertainty of the display sabzh - Unknown Display. Perhaps in the direction of X.org need to dig.

The main thing is loaded! With compilation, grub didn’t mess around, put remind - this is efi bootloader, it fixed everything.

You put on the internal drive, or a flash drive?
I think how efficient Linux will appear, put the system on a USB HDD. According to reviews like via USB2.0 the speed of work is sufficient.
Damn, well, it cost the Chinese to make a bootable internal card reader that sits on USB3.0 ...
